Trump White House blocks CNN, NYT, LA Times, Politico and others from media briefing

Typically, the country welcomes incoming presidents.

Yes... Trump had NO honeymoon.
That's because so many people recognize him as the train wreck he is.
Acting that way before he actually did anything to get mad about just ticks off those who voted for him, and doesn't help their cause.
So? What has he done? By this point, Obama signed ARRA into law. What has Trump signed? He claims he inherited a yuge mess .... shouldn't he start passing laws?

He can't pass laws that Congress won't send him. All he can do is EO's. Is that what you want, a continuation of Obama overreach? It is not a coincidence, BTW, that a president's popularity falls when he starts taking action. So long as Obama did nothing, people could project on his empty suit anything they wanted.

What a sad excuse. Congress would not of passed ARRA either had Obama not pushed them to. You know, being president does mean having to take initiative. It looks like his historically low job approval rating is well-deserved.

It sounds an awful lot like you're holding Trump to a much higher standard of action than you do Obama. Why is that?

Because unlike Trump, Obama actually did inherit a yuge mess.

So, Obama gets a huge mess and does very little in the beginning. That's a good thing. Then Trump gets a less huge mess and continues the Obama overreach on EO's, but is supposed to pass laws that Congress hasn't sent him.

Do we have that about right? Do you not see that you are basically begging for an autocratic president?

Everyone with a functioning brain stem anticipated much worse, given the open hostility Trump faces from the chattering class. There is absolutely no way they would ever treat him with the kid gloves they gave Obama, for example. No glowing halo pictures on the front page of magazines. No, this is a new era in American politics, where hate is the flavor of the day.
If there is hate, then it comes from both sides.

Mostly it looks like self-inflated egos and spineless assholes. It reminds me of Hollywood celebrities who bemoan how they can't go out on the street without causing a commotion. They wanted to be famous, now they are famous and they are bitching about it? WTFO?

From what I listened to over the weekend its the Press Corp who tell the administration who will be at a briefing. Not the other way round.
Interesting. The idea that President Trump, or in this case, his spokesman Sean Spicer, are trying to control the news media is not only unAmerican, but reeks of fear and cowardice. Even the Wall Street Journal, a right-leaning Murdoch publication, doesn't like the idea.

White House blocks CNN, New York Times from press briefing hours after Trump slams media
The Wall Street Journal, which did participate in the briefing, said in a statement that it was unaware of the exclusions and "had we known at the time, we would not have participated, and we will not participate in such closed briefings in the future."

The Washington Post did not have a reporter present at the time of the gaggle.

CNN's Sara Murray went on air to describe what happened:

We lined up. We were told there was a list ahead of time, which is sort of abnormal, but we put our name on a list. And then when we went to enter, I was blocked by a White House staffer, who said we were not on the list for this gaggle today.

Now, normally, if you were going to do something like this — an extended gaggle, off camera — you would have one person from each news outlet. As you know, we have multiple people from CNN here every day. So, if you're going to do something beyond a pool, which is sort of the smallest group of reporters that then disseminates the information, you would have one person from every news outlet.

That is not what the White House was doing today. What the White House was doing was handpicking the outlets they wanted in for this briefing. So Breitbart, the Washington Times, the One America News Network — news outlets that maybe the White House feels are more favorable were all allowed in, whereas I was blocked from entering, Politico was blocked from entering, the New York Times, the L.A. Times. All of these news outlets were blocked from going to a gaggle.

I would not call a nearly $1 trillion failed, pork-infested (over 7,000 pieces of DNC-ONLY pork) 'jobs' bill resulting in a cost of over $774,000 PER JOB Obama CLAIMED to have saved / created 'very little'.

No one is trying to control the media. Trump warned these guys a couple of weeks ago to knock of the shit and start reporting fairly and honestly. They didn't listen and this was a bitch slap.

Now, these old dogs who've always had their reserved seats at presidential press briefings, a privilege they took for granted, are being shown the door by an unorthodox administration who doesn't care what they think.. we get this breathless meltdown. It's not the end of free speech or an attack on the 1st Amendment. It's a bunch of media relics being schooled on decorum and their role as the media.

Awesome. So what "shit" did CNN report that wasn't fair or honest? Just a couple of examples will do. TIA

Not inviting propaganda outlets isn't controlling the media. The US has fought many battles and lost many lives due to propaganda. Propaganda is unAmerican. When Trump says fake media is our enemy and they report that he said media is the enemy then they proved him right. There's no one else that can report on press conferences than CNN or the NY Slimes? Are you serious? And the WSJ has liberal contributors, just because an op-ed is written does not mean it's a conservative viewpoint.

No, you don't have that right. Obama came into office and in less than 1 month, pushed his massive stimulus package through Congress. Calling that achievement doing "very little" indicates to me that you're delusional.

Not in their first month, they don't. They typically enjoy their highest approval ratings at this point.

They also typically enjoy a honeymoon period from the press. But not Trump, the Soros controlled press was engaged in the most vicious slander and libel imaginable from day one. The filthy fucks even went to the extent of slandering the attendance of his inauguration. With the level of demagoguery coming from the Soros controlled press, it's little wonder that the approvals are what they are.

Oh, and let me remind you, should the election be held today, Trump would still win and by far higher numbers. That you think you are winning is enjoyable to me, but the damage you do is deep. Can the nation recover from your treason? I hope so.

Let me know when Soros is done fucking you. Maybe then you will sound rational. :dunno:

That's because so many people recognize him as the train wreck he is.

That's because your Fuhrer declared all out war on Trump and set his fully controlled media to engaging in 24/7 slander and libel.

In the end this is hurting the Soros controlled media more than it is Trump. America has zero faith in what the media reports, they know the press works for your Fuhrer and concocts stories to promote his agenda, rather than reporting the facts.

Then both you and Soros should be happy. You should be happy because you think he's hurting in the media and Soros should be happy because you're hurting in the ass. Again, let me know when he's done fucking you.
