"While CNN doesn’t do great in the United States based on ratings, outside of the U.S. they have very little competition. Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way. Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!" - President Trump

The Founders KNEW a govt controlled press was necessary and central to protect us from being fed BIASED news. It's TRUE!!!!

The closest thing I would compare that to is "Radio Free Europe. That would be a great idea to get the truth out to all those poor ignorant, uninformed, commie lefties whose only news comes from late night comedians and Facebook.

Stop telling the world how great it is here and maybe they’ll stop wanting to come here.

I frequent a site called (or was called) “stumble upon”. What they do is categorize millions of websites into different categories. There are hundreds of categories so there is some overlap—FoxNews.com could be in Politics, Satire, Current Events, News all at the same time. Anyway, they do not just have the broad .com addresses, they will have stories so if you’re topic is cats for example, a FoxNews story about a cat caught in a tree may show up when you hit the “stumble” button on the portal.

Anyway, one of the websites it took me to during his Russian-sponsored-campaign was saying that his motivation for running was to launch a 24/7 cable news/entertainment network which I sort of just rolled my eyes about. But the interesting thing that was mentioned on the website was that the host/hostess who was going to be the studio presence for the network was Patricia Heaton whose show on ABC television was ending the same year he was going to launch this network.

i heard the same theory quite awhile ago & it was suggested that he & his ilk never really intended to win, but rather itstarted off as a stunt to brand himself into a trump network.... with roger ailes as a partner, since that pig had to leave fox & wasn't too happy about doing so; & that was just the way to get back at 'em - by directly competing & shaving off the 30% base extemists

Can you expand on that idea?

He's already got State TV in the form of Fox. What else does he need?

What will they call Trump's new national news service?

Celebrity Patriot?

The Sieg Heil Gazette?

WINNING The US Gay?

We gotta get a great name for the new propaganda tool.

Umm...

We already do.

VOA News

We've had the Voice of America for decades.

Voice of America (VOA) is a U.S. government-funded international radio broadcast source which serves as the United States federal government's official institution for non-military, external broadcasting, the largest U.S. international broadcaster. VOA produces digital, TV, and radio content in more than 40 languages which it distributes to affiliate stations around the globe. It is primarily viewed by foreign audiences, so VOA programming has an influence on public opinion abroad regarding the United States and its leaders.[1]

VOA was established in 1942,[2] and the VOA charter (Public Laws 94-350 and 103-415)[3] was signed into law in 1976 by President Gerald Ford. The charter contains its mission "to broadcast accurate, balanced, and comprehensive news and information to an international audience", and it defines the legally mandated standards in the VOA journalistic code.[4]

VOA is headquartered in Washington, DC and overseen by the U.S. Agency for Global Media, an independent agency of the U.S. government.[5] Funds are appropriated annually by Congress under the budget for embassies and consulates. In 2016, VOA broadcast an estimated 1,800 hours of radio and TV programming each week to approximately 236.6 million people worldwide with about 1,050 employees and a taxpayer-funded annual budget of US$218.5 million.[1][4]

Apparently they either don’t get CNN south of the border, or they don’t trust them, because they keep coming here.
