Trump tariffs are going to cost Americans an average of $2000 in 2020

Is this what winning looks like? Did you notice that even a dummy like Bush wasn’t stupid enough to create trade wars with China? He actually listened to advisors who understood what they were talking about.

The tariffs ‘eliminate all remaining economic gains from the administration’s deregulation actions’
The $2,031 number is higher than other estimates because tariffs keep increasing.

In May, the New York Fed estimated a $831 cost to households from tariffs. J.P. Morgan estimated that tariffs that went into effect on September 1 would cost American households up to $1,000 per year. Additional tariffs on China went into effect on October 1, and more tariffs are set to kick in on December 15.

“If all tariffs threatened by the Trump administration are imposed, combined with the current tariffs in place, the annual cost to U.S. consumers would be $461.1 billion and the cost for the average household would be $3,614,” the report stated.

Look people: Wars cost, whether its military war or economic war. When the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor we went to war. It cost us dearly but it had to be done.

The ChiComs have been making war on us for decades. Its time to fight. Will it cost us? Will it cost certain industries? Yep, but that's how it goes. Us military folks should not be the only Americans called upon in times of strife to make sacrifices. If we can risk our lives, then the least you can do is risk a few bucks.

And the American people could help too by NOT buying Chinese goods. That will cost them money, but like I said: Us military folks should not be the only Americans called upon in times of strife to make sacrifices. If we can risk our lives, then the least you can do is risk a few bucks.

But BITCHES like YOU have no idea about sacrificing for your country. All you do is cry and snivel and bitch.

Here's the problem with that complaint. The MW advocates always claim that we would only pay a few cents more for things if we paid everyone a high MW. The trade deficit hawks want us to balance trade with other nations, primarily China. That means buying American made and paying American wages.

Well, this is what it looks like when we force American prices on all goods.

Higher prices, if the consumer is willing to pay them, will allow for higher wages, but that means, yes, higher prices.
/—-/ Libtards who say higher minimum wages and higher corporate taxes don’t affect retail prices, claim high tariffs drive up consumer prices. Strange lot, those libtards.

Nobody says tariffs don't drive up prices. That's their express purpose. Of course, you could quote some.
If your complaint is higher prices, only buy what you need

Liar.

In May, the New York Fed estimated a $831 cost to households from tariffs.

Wrong.

The $831 estimate, they added, was based on a situation where imports from China can altogether be substituted from other foreign suppliers or completely stopped.

Durr.

And tariffs keep going up, so they would logically cost households even more next year.

Damn, are you really this stupid or is it just an act?
/—-/ Only if you buy Chinese crap.

/----/ Retail and mostly wholesale for two Fortune 50 companies. Consumers are too savy these days to fall for that old trick, they can price comparison in an instant and retailers don't want to harm their reputation by jacking up prices to make up for other items price increases.

/----/ At the time mid 80s to mid 90s Walmart was a small regional retailer. I didn't wholesale to them. I was in NY. Back then especially in small towns with little competition, you could get away with smoothing out price increases. Not anymore.

As of the 2010’s WalMart distress with you. When you do it over 10,000 products, nobody notices.

Not at a gay pride target store near you :10:
Take it out of the military budget. Oh wait, Trumpy already did that to build his Gilded Wall.

Bits and pieces keep going up

ISNT IT GREAT !!!

and the private we build the wall guys are going to do another " impossible to build here " section to
The wall won’t be built but let’s pretend it will be: then what?

Trump is building an invisible wall, so that Mexican will walk in to it, and bang their heads. It is a further deterrent.

Of course wholesalers will swallow the tariff costs. Don't all wholesalers have over a 30% profit margin that they can use for that purpose?
