Trump signs bill allowing states to defund planned parenthood

Okay. A preemie can sustain life outside the womb when born a few weeks early. Are you thus willing to protect all the unborn within a few weeks of delivery?
I believe after viability(around 24 weeks) the child should be protected, except for at the expense of the pregnant woman.
For example, after 25 weeks woman decides to change her mind and wants an abortion.. No, you had months to decide.
After 25 weeks the doctors tell the woman carrying to full term could be severely detrimental to her health for some reason and she wants an abortion. Yes, women should not be forced to carry out a dangerous pregnancy.
So to answer your question, a baby who a few weeks premature is a baby not a fetus and should be protected.

Can you quote the language of the Constitution that says only "viable" persons have a right to the equal protections of our laws? I can only find the part where it says ALL persons have that right.
That's a good point. Chris Reeves didn't lose his personhood when he hit his head on the rock, but he would have quickly died without artificial life support. He was, for all intents and purposes, unviable, yet anyone who cut his body apart with a saw or burned his skin off with chemicals would have been tried for murder.
When talking about pregnancy- viability is defined by whether or not the fetus can sustain life outside the womb. Including persons or children who have already been born is irrelevant, circular, and misleading.
If viability conveys personhood, there are hospitals full of non-person humans, dependent on machines for their next breath. Yet, anyone who kills any of them faces a murder trial. Thus, viability does not really convey personhood. That fact complicates Roe, which used viability to draw the line at third trimester abortions.
pro aborts typically don't value lives, period. They are not adverse to killing off anybody that they might potentially have to share resources with..

MRI scan lets parents-to-be see their babies in detail | Daily Mail Online
Womb with a view! Breathtaking new 20-week MRI scan lets expectant parents watch their unborn babies wiggle, swallow and even pull on the umbilical cord - FOUR WEEKS before the abortion limit

But it's just a clump of cells, and doesn't feel pain
Uh Huh...............

JUST A CLUMP OF CELLS wouldn't dare feel pain ........

At 14 weeks there's no way that fetus felt pain.. no brain, no nervous system.

The ability to feel pain and or the lack there of is a Red Herring in the abortion debate.

The ability to feel pain is NOT a Constitutional (let alone biological) requirement for a child to be recognized as a child / human being / person.

No, it is not. Posters have said how these fetuses at 20 weeks feel pain as a reason to make abortions illegal. Saying they do not is addressing that argument

You're right. The fact they have no organs yet and cannot sustain life outside of the womb makes it not a baby.

Your post shows how completely clueless you are about the biological facts and about what our laws already reflect about those biological facts.

The world "baby" is a term of endearment. It can apply to anything. . . Even inanimate objects like guns or cars. It also can be used synonymously with the word "child" which is the word our LEGAL language uses.... when it defines a "child in the womb in ANY stage of development " as a "child" and as "a human being"

Not even in any of the Supreme Court cases that you no doubt support (like Roe) did the court ever try to make the claim that you just did. I suspect it's because even they (during Roe) knew the biological facts far better than you obviously do.

Both sides can try to make the threshold for feeling pain and issue all they want. They can even try to base laws on it.... it's still going to be a red herring though... Unless you can show me where "the ability to feel pain " is required for "personhood " under our Constitution.

Watch the video of that little girl. Nobody can argue that she is not a human being/ person. Yet' she can't (or couldnt) feel pain... even at the age of 12.

Children born with no frontal lobes at all (annencephalic babies) also ruled to be equally entitled to the EQUAL protections of our laws by the courts. They have no ability to feel pain, either.

The ability to feel pain is NOT a requirement for personhood. I challenge you to prove it otherwise.

So it's okay to disregard the ability to feel pain when we're talking about the killing of an unborn human being but we can't cause pain to a terrorist who wants to murder as many innocent people as possible. The hypocrisy and lack of humanity among the left is appalling.

Thanks for the above.

For those who might try to twist my words in my other posts... I never said that the ability to feel pain (whether in the womb or out) is a non issue.

My point is simply that the ability to feel pain is NOT a requirement for personhood.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed a bill into law allowing states to defund Planned Parenthood and entities that commit abortions from receiving family planning funding under Title X. The new law reverses former President Barack Obama’s 11th hour parting gift to Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, which contributed heavily to his campaigns.

Good, too bad so many are under the Democratic control though, they'd rather rake in that money for themselves. But at least the option is there for states who say screw you we will not be part of your CULT.

Another Barry's order undone.

:clap2:

Enjoy it asshole because there's little doubt that the Repubs will work to take us back to the Dark Ages and they've got 2 years to do it.

The saddest thing is how close we came to saving the middle class, growing our economy and catching up to the rest of the world.

Instead, the R race to the bottom accelerates every day.

How did we come close to saving the middle class? By electing Clinton who would have done the same thing Obama did and widened the gap further between rich and poor.
