Now, one could argue that this is an example of Trump using his superhuman narcissism for good. Perhaps, previous American presidents had been too deferential to D.C. conventional wisdom on the Korean conflict — while Trump, following his lust for personal glory instead of the foreign policy Establishment’s advice, was making a diplomatic concession that would genuinely bolster the cause of world peace.

Trump responded Thursday by reassuring Kim that the U.S. would provide “very strong” protections to his totalitarian regime, should he agree to a disarmament deal. And on Friday, The Wall Street Journal revealed that the U.S. had canceled the military exercise that had offended Pyongyang.

Why not? They've already released four Americans and have expressed a willingness to destroy their nuclear capability.

Great move by Trump.

It does how Kim has the upper hand, and Trump is the appeaser.

But this may be good appeasement.

/----/ That is such a one sided hit peace. I stop reading articles that include language like "Trump using his superhuman narcissism for good" Did you ever consider Trump used the military exercises as a bargaining chip to get Rocket Man to the meeting? Something no other president has been able to do? You libtards will never give Trump the benefit of the doubt or credit for anything.

The Trump diarrhea helped.

big deal , how many Carriers and Battleships are parked off the 'norks' shores ?? How many B52 are sitting on runways in Guam ?? Military exercises can be RESTARTED at the drop of a hat . All TRUMP is doing is making things so that 'kim' can be shown to be the obstinate 'pwick' if talks fail . --------------------------- imo !!

Trump is an appeaser.

Let's see what Kim wants next: America to denuclearize?

Excellent move. Should have thought of it before, but better late than never.
