The thing here is that there really isn't a basis for Chuck and Nancy to work with President Trump on Rx costs at this point in time, as long as they are calling him a criminal.

They will never be able to sell Trump's Tremendous Rx Program to their masses, as long as Trump is being portrayed as Al Capone.

Suppose, just for a sec, that Trump were to show Chuck and Nancy a fabulous program. How would they possibly be able to stand with him for the signatures for Trump Care and hail the President, with impeachment pending?

It isn't going to happen, they aren't interested in bipartisanship.

Last I heard, Nancy Pelosi is NOT interested in impeachment. I'm no fan of Pelosi, but as Speaker of the House Dems, she does need to communicate how the Dems feel. She has continued to do it without using the "I" word, though. She's caught between a rock and a hard place.
Personally, I don't see any more reason to impeach him now than there was six months ago. I keep waiting for some evidence that he is actually a criminal. Not conjecture or inference, but actual evidence. The Mueller report apparently hasn't done that (although I am still waiting for g5000 to give us his report on this--he bought the book). What Mueller couldn't unearth, what WaPo and NYT couldn't unearth, the Senate and House investigations most certainly will not. They haven't got the clout. This is sheer partisan harassment.
I hate Trump's guts, but let's do this right, folks. Quit needling the prick and focus on giving us someone GOOD to win against him in 2020.

he should have gone ahead with the talks, appointed a couple of folks to hammer out a deal and waited for the dems to poison pill it.

they are never, ever, going to stop their shennanigans/investigations/allegations. It's how they've decided to deal with this presidency, so by saying he's not willing to talk until they cut the shit, he's saying there will be no discussions on anything. They don't care, they lose nothing, as they never intend to do a deal on this or anything else with this guy so they lose nothing by his refusing to talk and gain the perceptive high ground, as now they'll claim he is putting his own interests ahead of the good of the people by refusing to work on anything, asking them to quash investigations to move forward, blackmailing the American people blah, blah, blah....

and right on cue, Nancy is now saying Trump needs an intervention 'for the good of the country'
