Wow Trump made the threat that if the house doesn't vote tomorrow to repeal and place Obamacare tomorrow, he's moving on to other issues and Obamacare stays... wow. This could be the death of the Republican Party.

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Abandoning negotiations, President Donald Trump demanded a make-or-break vote on health care legislation in the House, threatening to leave "Obamacare" in place and move on to other issues if Friday's vote fails.

The risky move, part gamble and part threat, was presented to GOP lawmakers behind closed doors Thursday night after a long and intense day that saw a planned vote on the health care bill scrapped as the legislation remained short of votes amid cascading negotiations among conservative lawmakers, moderates and others."

It's a gamble, but the way Trump sees it, he won't be held hostage and slowed down from other pressing issues like taxes, trade deals and the like that will produce jobs and economic growth. If he doesn't win in 2020 he will go back to his regular business world. The fall out is on the shoulders of the GOP.

Now, what I don't understand is why Trump didn't just go full out free market, heavy conservative-laden with this Bill and let the Democrats fight over the vote of it in the Senate. Now, the GOP is under the gun. That being said, it's been a lengthy negotiation and you can't keep leading the horse to the water if he won't drink.

You would assume that this is a risky negotiating tactic. However, sources within his administration have claimed that Donald Trump is incredibly frustrated and sick of dealing with healthcare.

Seriously Donald Trump, you are losing patience two weeks into the legislative process? You're issuing an ultimatum on one of your #1 campaign promises 60 days into your presidency?

The bill has only existed for 2 weeks. They haven't even been negotiating for a week. This is a total farce!

If Donald Trump doesn't have the patience to work on healthcare reform for even a month, then how will he effectively legislate on anything else?

I had to listen to his idiot supporters spin the cancellation of the vote as a victory, because they didn't want this bill shoved down their throats. Here comes Donald Trump shoving the bill down your throat!

If you supported Trump and are not outraged, then you are a hack.

It should have been ready to go before he got elected.

I just don't think he expected to be elected.

How amateurish.

It's like showing up to school or your job w/o your work or presentation ready.

Not like any of us should be that much surprised. He didn't know what he was doing, let others he "trusted" do it for him, and just put his name on it. Much like Trump University.

Since they didn't have a plan ready before he was elected, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that nothing could be done after he was elected.

shockedcanadian is right, he should have spent most of his time touring the nation, pulling old excerpts from Reagan's playbook about the evil of government meddling in the affairs of the market, and having everything repealed, including regulations that made it harder for folks to shop around for insurance across state lines.

Then, once folks understood that the problem with healthcare is the expectation that government needs to provide for them, rather than themselves taking care of it, the repeal would be no big deal. Costs come down when the government isn't busy trying to get a cut, or protect industries and prop. them up.

Trump realizes that their attempt will end up hurting a lot of people, and will be tied around his neck forever. He is jumping at any excuse to get away from it and blame somebody else for his running away.

If I were Trump I would've told them the bill sucks and isn't getting signed in its current state.

Also would've told them they have two choices:

Free market with tax credits, or a socialized healthcare system.. Pick one and be done.

yeah. . . I'm sure that's it.

Would that be;

Number two, Protect the downside and the upside will take care of itself?

or

Number ten, Contain the costs?

Because it sure as hell isn't number nine, Deliver the goods.

The GOP had eight years to whine, complain and generate an alternative. Trump has alot of work to do beyond healthcare, these politicians were really concerned about their constituents to NOT have any semblence of a plan prepared after eight years...sad....

Earth to "shocked Canadian"

Republicans can't govern. I realize this might cause your pea brain to explode, but just try to let it digest a bit.

:itsok:

He told them to vote on it, didn't say he'd sign it into law.

My feeling is he just wants them to do their jobs.

The handful of Republican politicians who are afraid of a backlash against supporters of the health care bill come election time are exactly the sort of emasculated cowards not to go against Trump.
Trump cannot lose because he can claim the gridlock has nothing to do with him.
Should the bill be passed and in the Senate too, if unpopular, it will be the fault of Congress.
If the public like the bill he can take credit without having done a thing.

Let the bill fail, move on to the tax reform and let Obamacare stay in place where it will collapse under it's own weight around the time of the mid-term elections. BRAVO, Donald!!!!

This will also lead to RINO Ryan's dismissal!!!

And bring down America, which was Obama's goal.
Americans can't afford the bill, and it will crush the economy.
