In a Republic, actually
“Play football or basketball so we can be entertained, Trump seems to be telling these athletes. No one wants to hear your lack of gratitude for what you've been given.

There's so many things wrong with that view.

First of all, no one gave these players anything. They worked for it.

Second, just because you are a professional athlete doesn't mean you don't get to be a citizen, too. We don't tell accountants, for example, that they can't express their opinions on politics and the culture more broadly, right? So why should we be in the business of telling professional athletes? And would Trump feel the same way if the majority of those protesting the anthem were white?”

That Trump is a bigot is settled, accepted, and beyond dispute.

Now we see more evidence that Trump is a racist as well.

Just because those idiots think that pissing people off will accomplish something, doesnt mean the rest of us cant cant be citizens with our own 1st amendment rights. If they arent man enough to handle the backlash, they shouldnt be doing it in the first place. End of story.

Not one person that calls him/herself an American is okay with this asshole with an entitled mentality disrespecting the flag and everything this country stands for. It's truly poetic justice that not a single NFL team wants to hire Colin Kaepernick

Just how fucking stupid are you?

This has nothing to do with being a citizen. You don't protest minor regional injustices with protests against a nation that has given you everything; particularly given that people have bled and died for that.

Want to talk about being wrong. That would be your racist ass.

Football is more than a game, its also a business. When an employee starts offending your customers costing the business perhaps many millions in lost revenue its time to fire that employee.

Seems like the owners would be the ones to make that call. Last I heard, they told Trump to mind his own business.

Amen!

Let's be honest, non-Whites have a race problem. And that is Whites who they assume are superior, because they generally are.

Football, baseball, basketball, whatever ----- they are all about TEAMWORK. It isn't about the individual. Everyone has a right to his opinion, but not while he is WORKING. A player should stand with the rest of his teammates. A player wears his teams colors while on the field --- he doesn't wear his own duds so that he sticks out.

Any employer will soon let go the "individual" who refuses to fit the corporate mold. One can certainly respect the ideals or spirit of one's nation without accepting that which one finds wrong. One can certainly at least stand respectfully and remain silent --- no matter what one may think or believe personally. One should not disrespect those among whom one chooses to work or play by making one's self a spectacle. Again, one is a TEAM representative and should act professionally while he represents that organization.

Thanks to dumbfuck Trump - many more will soon be taking a knee.

And you will see more and more empty stadiums. You looney libs just don't get it. Normal people are tired of your bullshit.
Sometimes normal people just don't think about black people. Sometimes for days on end the whining denands of blacks won't enter the minds of most normal people.

Shut up and play ball.

How do you think what they work for was given the ability to exist in the first place?

God bless you and and our troops always!!!

Please prove that players kneeling down during the anthem has cost the NFL mk millions in lost revenue.

Thanks.
