Former President Donald Trump lashed out Friday at the Department of Justice after Attorney General Merrick Garland announced he was appointing a special counsel to oversee the investigations into Trump's handling of classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago home and his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

In remarks at his Florida resort Friday night, Trump called the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith "appalling" and a "horrendous abuse of power." "This is a rigged deal," he said, referring to Smith, a highly respected career prosecutor, as the "super radical left special counsel."

“They want to do bad things to the greatest movement in the history of our country but in particular bad things to me,” he said. Echoing language from his speech before the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, he told attendees, “You people have to fight. You have to fight. You have to be strong.”

Trump acknowledged several Republican lawmakers apparently in the audience for the event, including Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Ronny Jackson and Louie Gohmert of Texas, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Clay Higgins of Louisiana, Claudia Tenney of New York, and failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

Why does Trump care about who Garland appoints?

If he has done nothing wrong, what does he need to be afraid of?

So you would be fine with 7 years of being hounded by the Democrats, the Media and the DOJ? You wouldn't have anything to be afraid of, so that should be fine, right?
Clintoons have been harrassed by the GOP for much, much longer, yet you don't give a fuck.

When you know you deliberately broke the law, you claim it's all rigged so you have your ready excuse.
I mean, his mentality is of a school kid. Not a president.

This is what Democrats do to harass the opposition. It's how they hounded Governor Sara Palin from office. If I was Trump, just ignore the silly snipes.

Poor SupermadBrutha. Why won’t Republicans just roll over and let the Dem run state ruin their lives with false accusations?

Oh this is what we're gonna do now?

All of the sudden you love the "If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to be afraid of?" Are you not a Black man?

Huh

So he should just be able to do all the dirt he wants and never be checked on it, right? Is that what you are saying? The only reason that dude wasn't thrown out the WH was because of the weak ass Republican Party covering for him.

That's the problem, they are not false. You are just in denial and you don't care what he does, as long as, he is doing your bidding and working to make this country white again.

That's just it, he is not a black man so the same rules to apply to him that applies to me. If Pres. Obama had done half the dirt that this cat has done, Republicans would have wanted his head on a pike. All you Trump Humpers do is make excuses for this dude's wrongdoing. Well, it's coming to an end, hopefully sooner than later.

I'm asking you if the standard "if you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about" is the standard you want to live by.

I find it highly objectionable. I don't care what color you are. White, brown, or black. It's anti-American, and wrong.

Follow the evidence wherever it leads. Trump supporters will mobilize at the right time.
Will they/you "mobilize" if he actually committed crimes? What would that mobilization look like, precisely?

Details, please. The thinly-veiled threats have become terribly boring.

Is your earthly deity above the law, or not? Is empowering your strongman worth ignoring the rule of law? Do you long for Europe of the 30's?
