Total US Debt Rises Over $18 Trillion; Up 70% Under Barack Obama

The Obama congress got stuck paying for what the Bush congress spent. Sadly, many Americans, informed by such as fox not-news, still don't know this.

The Bush Congress was made up of Democrats, dimwit.

Actually, Republicans controlled Congress for most of his presidency
Irrelevant. Most of the spending took place in the last 2 years. And if Democrats under Obama in Congress werent responsibel because of previous Congresses then Republicans under Bush werent responsible either because of previous Democrat Congresses.

very friendly Republicans ... When President Bush had been in office 1,889 days, he had signed 1,091 bills and vetoed zero.

Obama made the Bush tax cuts permanent, and idiots like you still can't figure taxes out.

And it’s also untrue — as claimed in a graphic widely circulated by email and in social media postings — that the debt has increased more under Obama than under all previous 43 presidents combined. In fact, as of Jan. 31, 2012, the rise under Obama had yet to surpass the rise under his predecessor, George W. Bush.
The figures in that graphic are pure fabrications, as anyone can easily confirm by plugging Obama’s inauguration date — Jan. 20, 2009 — in the Treasury Department’s handy “debt to the penny” website. That shows the nation’s total debt stood at $10.6 trillion on the day Obama took office (not $6.3 trillion), and it had increased to nearly $15.4 trillion by the end of January 2012 — a rise of more than $4.7 trillion in just over three years (not $6.5 trillion).

Another bullshit excuse. Obama was riding on an 80% approval rating after getting elected. He could have kicked the budget with the trillion dollar plus deficit back to Congress saying it was unacceptable and demand they rein it in. Again, he'd have been hailed a hero for doing that.

That's pretty silly stuff right there, Obama was supposed to veto Bush's 2009 budget? What for? It was already voted on by congress. Bush was THAT much of an idiot? Why did the right elect an idiot, then?

What would you have had to say about it if HE DID veto it? I'm guessing there would have been more impeachment talk about "Lord Obama."

Some of these issues that you are equating to "bullshit" are legitimate, the continuing costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the bailouts, the stimulus - these were not just wild brain-farts that Obama came up with after a night out on the town with Larry Sinclair, but rather based on widely accepted, well researched, sound economic recommendations.

I swear, no matter WHAT either party comes up with, the other party is certain to not only poo-poo it, but also demand a $40,000,000.00 investigation.

Let's see.
3 Trillions from the Bush Tax Cuts.
3 Trillion at least rebuilding Iraq
1 trillion from Medicare part D
The unknown trillions from a fucked up economy through GOP deregulation
Unknown trillions from the cost of the tens of thousands of young Americans Republicans tricked into going to Iraq and ending up maimed.
The trillions lost with millions of jobs moving to China from 2001 to 2008.
Trillions lost from the more than 40,000 factories closed from 2001 to 2008.

I guess the fault is Obama's, and that was what happened before he was even sworn in.

Actually it was the Clinton administration that caused this mess, you don't get over that disaster in just 14 years. We shouldn't forget what really happened.

What's to figure out, lowlife scum liberals already take a huge chunk of what I earn and they still want more. Meanwhile their base of moochers and sponges are sucking up the welfare.

I am confused. Are liberals claiming they are fiscal conservatives? They do not want massive government spending?

Can someone out there please decipher their double talk?

or

Are they saying massive spending reduces the deficit?

or

Are they all of a sudden saying the tea party platform is the correct one?

If their lying shack of shit in chief has truly reduced the size of government and reduced the massive spending and that has resulted in the "lowering of the deficit" someone should remind them that that is not what they stand for.

Holy shit liberals are hypocrites who ALL talk out of both sides of their stupid faces. Holy shit.

WHAT THE FUCK DO THEY STAND FOR?!?!

You can go around saying that Republicans are all "fiscally conservative" until you are blue in the face.

When they waste our money, you may also defend them until the end of time.

People are either penny-wise or penny-foolish; running around telling folks who you are and how well your policies work, basically equates to some guy online telling everyone how bad-ass he is.

Take it with a grain of salt.

whats to figure out? .. see, exactly what I'm talking about, you're braindead. Those low life libs are taxing you using a Republican President's tax laws.. .. you're just too stupid to know it.

"Liberals" take it, eh? Not people on welfare in red states? Not Big corporations who pay very little taxes and stick you with fixing the infrastructure? Not pie-in-the-sky politicians and their bleeding heart, knee-jerk trillion dollar wars???

Right, you keep on repeating that and eventually it will all come true.

I keep posting this debt-relief formula and the lawmakers keep wanting our country to commit fiscal suicide in order to make a few of their buddies richer... *sigh*...but here we go again:

1. Make universal healthcare the law using Article I, Section 8 and the general Welfare clause.

2. Watch the burden of that cost to families which approaches the value of a second mortgage all are paying IMMEDIATELY disappear.

3. When that burden disappears, families use that spare cash to start creating demand again by consuming; which is what the middle class does best.

4. Businesses then freed of their own burden to provide healthcare can suddenly afford to hire more workers to meet this new demand.

ANNNNNNDD..... the trend reverses back on its march towards the black and out of the red.

5. Add new regulations on hiring overseas by increasing tariffs on foreign-labor produced goods and even more hiring goes on locally in the good old US of A.

6. More and more people here then qualify as homebuyers and borrowers and the banks get back on track again.

7. The housing market follows lockstep and improves and America's overall wealth increases.

********

All this born from one simple change: Universal Healthcare.

Oh, and people who are well cared for with easily accessible routine health maintenance cost less overall. They will go in more often for cheaper preventative care, and the overall costs of healthcare go down.

The pool for Universal care is HUGE, outnumbering any private insurer. So the risk can be spread out more evently. Tax the main killers on each sale: junk food, booze and tobacco to feed the Fund and charge a small co-pay that essentially actually covers the routine care costs. BINGO.

Allow people to purchase premium care if they like so insurers can still have some type of market...

Or...

Continue to placate the healthcare Moguls at the expense of the entire country.

Your choice.

Where the fuck did anyone suggest all republicans are fiscally conservative? Liberals are all over the fucking place on every fuckin issue. You want mass government expansion, spending, you all want a nanny state and if you do not want those things and if you are fiscally conservative as you hypocrites are boasting in this thread then you uphold the tea party platform. You fucking moron.

Oh and please stop referring to tea party members or conservatives as republicans.
