We don't have to put up with it...
Election 2004
Voting Age Population: 215,694,000
Turnout: 122,295,345
Turnout of Voting Age Population: 56.69%
-------------------------------------------------------
As an example, say that the 2008 election voting age population is 217 million, and the turnout is 60%. That would be 130.2 million voting.
Now, assume that a mass of new voters — young people who have had enough of being the scapegoat for the elder generations follies, and tired of the "fiscal child abuse" — decided to vote the Demolicans out, and bring in someone who had more the country's interests in mind.
%.......Million
100.....130.2......Total Voters
31.......40.36......Democrat
28.......36.46......Republican
7.........9.11.......Libertarian
34.......44.27......Independent
Out of the total of 217 million eligible voters, the Independent would need only 20.4%, and 34% of the 130.2 million who voted. It could happen if the electorate really wanted a change...
