A 1964 Winchester Model 94 30-30 rifle. I asked a guy if he had any guns and he brought out three: A crappy Italian-made .22 auto rifle, a bolt-action shotgun, and this. His asking price was $30, which was a steal. 1964 was the first year Winchester started producing a slightly different design for the Model 94. 1964 and post-1964 Winchesters aren't worth as much as the pre-'64 models, but this one is still worth about $400. Notice the brass plating on the receiver showing through the blackening. They used a lower grade of steel that year and plated the receiver. I disassembled it after watching a Youtube video, scrubbed the parts clean with solvent, oiled it up, and re-assembled it with no problem. Then I gave it a test-shooting on some 100-yard AR500 steel targets. It rang the target every shot, and will make a nice deer-slayer this winter.

There have been more deer harvested in this country with those, than any other rifle.

I like watching the show Pawn Star, they present old weapons I find it interesting, I do not know anything but even an old weapon can lose much of its value because of its quality.
Collectors like all to be original?

This one is all original but it was made in 1964. That was the year that they started using crappy manufacturing processes on the Winchester Model 1894. Winchester collectors look for the "pre-64" models, which bring much higher money, up to over $1,000 for the 1920's models and higher for the 1800's models with the octagonal barrels.

Still, not bad for $30.

You got that for steal. The crown looks good also.

It does have a good crown and the bore have sharp rifling. There was a little surface rust on the crown but I used a Dremel with a brass brush and some CLP to remove it. There are also specks of surface rust in other places, especially on the lever. Not gonna fool with them.

Bonjour, I have some questions about weapons, you can buy weapons from an individual who Don't have a license to sell for weapons?
And the Reason you have weapons is to defend yourself or to hunt?
Thank you for your answers, I do not know anything so I like to ask questions

Here in the US, it's legal to sell your personal firearms as long as you don't knowingly sell it to a felon or a minor. You only need a license if you're going into the business of selling firearms. Gun shows have licensed dealers where paperwork and a background check is performed, but there are also private sellers who don't do paperwork or background checks. That's what's commonly referred to by the left as the "gun show loophole."

The reason I have weapons is because they don't depreciate in value over the years, and because of the scarcity. Everyone else seems to be buying them up too. Or to dispatch two-legged varmints if they try to get in the house. I'm not the Great White Hunter, although I could hunt if needed. We have 80 acres of wooded land behind the house that always full of deer, rabbits, raccoons, and squirrels.

Okay, thank you for the explanations, I must admit that I love animals too much for hunted .
There is also a law about firearms that you can not sell because of the date?:dunno:
Again, I think it's Something about the year 1893? before or after.:dunno:
I hope I explain myself well?;)

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms doesn't consider a firearm a "firearm" if it was manufactured before a certain date or if it fires ammunition that's no longer available.. Those are not regulated. Neither are black powder firearms or modern-day black powder replica firearms. Those can actually be possessed by a felon.

If you are selling personal property and not as a business, you don't have to have an FFL...... and don't worry, criminals are not getting their guns from garage sales or guns shows...they are using straw buyers, people who can buy guns legally, and going to gun stores, or they are stealing them from homes and cars.......

By the way, these straw buyers are usually the baby mommas, grandmothers, mothers of the criminals who have clean records, and buy the gun with a background check...which means they can pass a background check for a private sale if a state has universal background checks....

The only reason the media and anti-gunners demand universal background checks on gun sales...knowing that straw buyers can pass them anyway...... is to be able to demand a national gun registry....which they need down the road when they get the power to ban or confiscate guns in total, or the types of guns they think they can get banned.....

Most criminals are too cheap to buy them at gun shows. The prices there are usually pretty expensive, and they'd rather steal them, trade drugs for them, or buy one cheap from another criminal. They wouldn't buy them at garage sales either. If the seller puts a gun on their table at a garage sale, it's usually pretty expensive. I always ask if they have any guns when I go to a garage sale, but it usually takes anywhere from 60 to over a hundred before I find one. Criminals aren't going to work that hard.
