Thirty seconds over Tokyo

Halsey chickened out. Ordering Doolittle's planes to take off too early before the agreed launching point several hundred miles closer to the Japanese mainland doomed many of the pilots and crews who ran out of gas.Halsey should have been sanctioned for his timid approach to the mission . By all indications the the sinking of the Japanese spy boat by a US Destroyer had no relevance in the raid. The Japanese were thoroughly clueless and there was no threat to the convoy.

30 Seconds over Tokyo is the only 1st Edition I have.

One bomber ran out of fuel and had to ditch in the ocean and the Pilot found himself outside the plane. Turns out upon impact with the water he went through the front windshield!

All of the Pilots were volunteers to include Doolittle himself who, along with Chuck Yeager, was one of the best Pilots in Aviation History.

This was before the Battle of Midway. The loss of a carrier could have been devastating to our war effort in the Pacific.

Chickened out? Are you too fucking stupid to know why the aircraft had to be launched earlier than planned? Not much of a historian.....are you.
