How in the world is Barack Obama going to get re-elected as President? The economy was in shambles when he came into office, and its still in shambles. Why wouldn't President Obama be reelected? Bachmann, Romney, Perry, Huckabee, Palin, Palenty, Huntsman, Gingrich, Paul, Santorum, Cain, McCotter (who?), Roemner, Bolton and Daniels are all very good reasons to vote for President Obama.
Most of these wannabees have a thing or two in common, and that one thing is not an idea, a vision or a plan. It is an ambition to be "The Man" or "The Woman" and the willingness to arrouse the emotions, passions and prejudices of the voters to earn the power and popoularity necessary to get the GOP nomination. BTW, if those quotes are supposed to prove what a "divider" he is, you might want to go get a few more quotes that actually work. These are the same type of bullshit bandied around by conservatives. (Remember someone shouting out at the President during the SotU that he was a liar? How about ANY of the bullshit Cantor said during the televised Healthcare debate about how Obama was ripping apart America because he wanted to dismantle government?... I could go on and on.)
But let's talk about Obama's concessions:
1. He gave away the single-payer option without getting anything in return.
He got a health care law passed in return
2. He gave away 40% of the stimulus as tax-cuts without getting anything in return knowing that tax cuts are the worst way to stimulate the economy (smart people hold on to their money)
He got the better part of a half a trillion dollars to spend in return
3. in response to pressure about the cost of federal salaries, he conceded to a 2 yr salary freeze for public employees on 11/29/10 and got nothing in return
Is a president supposed to get something in return for showing fiscal restraint when we have a debt issue?
4. On cap and trade, Obama put up his concessions first - 1) more offshore drilling and 2) increase the number of nuclear power plants - and got nothing in return. Bupkiss. Zilcha.
He had a majority in both houses and couldnt get it going...seems it is not what the American people wanted....So he is supposed to get something the American people dont want? Really?
5. 4/11/10 budget negotiations - Obama caves on budget spending in a high-stakes negotiation situation that got a lot of media attention - whoops! He gives away billions in cuts and gets nada in return.
From ANYONE on either side of the aisle....he was off the mark with that and even his own party knew it
