The WORST Instacart Order EVER! Customer Deserves a Slap

Just as Pedro said it’s about the principal. It’s not about this idea of “finding a different job”. …. there is some human being in America in a wealthy neighborhood who thinks it’s OK to tip two dollars on a $400 order that’s going to take an hour and a half minimum …working in 103° heat.

The customer should be smacked in the face for sure.

I’m providing my opinion here and it is agreed with by many people and those who disagreed with it I think should not be allowed to be in America.

Here in the United States, it is customary. It is an American custom part of American culture to tip upwards of 15% usually at least 15% bare minimum… when you’re at a restaurant. It’s the same thing when it’s a pizza delivery guy or something like that.

I wonder if this is part of the downfall of American civilization. Of western civilization. The rise of selfishness and greed, which is the large part brought to us by far left-wing Democrats. They want everyone to be selfish. They don’t want men to work out they don’t want women to be working out, they want people on drugs. They want people to be living in pods. They want people to be happy to live in a pod, watching porn, doing drugs all day while the fat cats live in mansions and tip two dollars on a $400 order. The tip on that $400 order should be bare minimum $40.

And I’m saying this because it’s my right. For those who think it’s OK to order $400 worth of groceries and leave a two dollar tip should be banned from America. Get the hell out of this country is my message to those people.

The cost of goods and services are identified before purchase. A tip is just an additional gift to the provider of those goods and services for something that went beyond what was expected as part of that purchase. I expect good service so there is no tip involved. Give me exceptional service, something beyond what is reasonably expected, you'll get a tip.

First of all, we don't know and he doesn't know how much the tip was because he didn't deliver the order.

Many people tip in cash. I know I always tip delivery drivers with cash at the door. After all, what if you get shitty service?

And I disagree with this whole tipping in advance crap anyways. After all there's no motivation to provide great service if they get tipped in advance.

What if you give them a great tip and in turn they give you shitty service? Do you get your money back?

And this guy complaining about working when it's hot out when most of the time he is inside a grocery store or in his car is just pathetic. The only time he's out in the heat is when he walks to and from his car which is only about 2% of the time. It's not like an Instacart shopper is out in the elements all day.

The sad thing is that one person will not expect the same performance compared to another person. Going to a concert is pretty much no different. Unless you love who is on stage no matter what, certain people in the crowd may go home disappointed should their favorite songs not be a part of the performance.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. Some people go home disappointed when a meet and greet with the singers isn't in the cards.

Tried to feel bad for the guy, but I work outside in the heat all day, and the freezing cold in winter. My job building homes doesn't involve tipping.

Suck it up buttercup.

Tipping should not be necessary. Pay a living wage, instead of trying to shame customers.

Mandatory tipping is stupid and it's misleading, false advertising to say the least. If it's a real job, the pay should be commensurate. If it isn't, don't take the job. If one accepts a job, they should do the job, weather included.
Why not institute mandatory tipping for customers? That makes as much sense. Consider this, if I spend my valuable time making a list of 400 items that will provide a job to you, TIP ME!
Fucking loons making a looneyworld.....I have no patience for it.
Stop whining, find a real job or stay home.

Tipping is necessary. There’s some kind of a mass confusion going on here between some of you folks. This is America and in the restaurant business you always tip your waiter unless there are a total asshole. And it’s always 15% gratuity.

Ok I would think most of us can agree that a wealthy customer who orders $400 worth of groceries and tips two dollars is a piece of garbage who deserves to be smacked. They don’t belong in this country. They need to get the hell out of America because they’re not a part of American culture.

The person ordered $400 worth of groceries and left a 2 dollar tip. They are a huge piece of trash, and needs to be punched in the face.

I doubt if there is a man alive today who hasn't worked at some point in his life in 103 degree heat. When are they going to stop whining?

On those delivery platforms people almost never tip in cash.

On Instacart customer has an opportunity to remove the tip after the order is delivered.

Because of that fake lockdown thing almost everybody is having their orders dropped off in front of their house and there’s no contact made. So there’s basically zero cash tip and you can talk with anybody in the gig industry they will tell u

That’s the difference between the gig economy and a pizza delivery service where it’s cash.

I agree if the service is bad, then they can remove the tip. And on most of these applications, you can actually remove the tip after the order is delivered.

There’s tons of videos showing no tip ****** that usually have to wait a long time to get their food because of course, no driver in their right mind is going to take a two or three dollar order. Because like 98% of the time there is no cash tip. If not more than that like 99.5% of the time.

anyway, this whole thing goes back to a $400 grocery order. That is paying a batch pay of like $13. That’s $13 for two hours of work. that’s modern day slavery. And this is about that $400 order and the customer leaving a two dollar tip and I say the customer is a piece of human garbage who definitely deserves to be clocked in the face.

Maybe there some people in this thread from Germany or Japan, where they don’t tip. Simply put here in America everyone in this country who is a part of America knows that it is customary to tip 15% of the service industry. It’s just always how it’s been. Always how it should be. Of course, there are those who are so greedy and brutal that wanna somehow switch things up and endorse slavery. We should stand up to that.

There’s some kind of a movement online where Grubhub and Door Dash and Instacart customers are saying we’re not gonna tip anything. the “No tip movement” They are the lowest scum of the universe. They have no right to be in this country in my opinion. They should be banned from America. Get em the the hell out of the country.

Maybe we don’t disagree that much because like I said, I agree with you if the waiter or the delivery person is an asshole, then they should not get tipped.

And they’re getting paid 20, 30 $40 an hour

What in the world is going on here with your types of responses man. This is a simpl issue. Here in America people tip. It’s part of American culture. Those who don’t are pieces of shit.

Tipping is a part of American culture going back many years. And it’s always been customary to tip in the service industry in the modern times.

I remember talking with a maid she was saying she hates it when she has guests from India. Because sometimes the room smells like absolute shit and they don’t leave any tips. That’s modern day slavery.

there are immigrants including from India who do the right thing they know full well that here in America, it is customary to tip those in the service industry.

When I’m at a hotel, I’ll leave a five dollar bill for a tip for the maid. And I don’t think that’s anything special. Just a part of American culture.

It lets owners get away with paying workers less and forces workers to fawn over customers and hopefully get what they should be theirs as a matter of course.

I just looked that up. It says that after you place your order you can remove all but $2.00 of the tip. The Instacart app will automatically fill in a recommended tip onto the bill and if you don't notice it and place the order you're charged at least a $2 tip. That's probably what happened in this case.

If you tip them in cash it doesn't get reported to Instacart so they add that to their employee's 1099 or use it to pay them less. It's one of the ways corporations like Instacart screws their employees that they falsely refer to as "independent contractors" to pay them less and skirt Social Security insurance, disability insurance, unemployment insurance and other business costs.

I agree that in that sense a cash tip is better, but if you talk with any of these delivery drivers, they will tell you there is almost never a cash tip.

I am willing to bet on the Instacart order of $400 that the customer intentionally left a two dollar tip. Either way they should know better. But also there’s almost no way most drivers will accept that order it will be ludicrous. You’re gonna be making way under minimum wage on that order. In most cases after such an order is dropped off People are not adding to the tip.

There’s videos online where customers brag about not tipping and yes, on some of these applications, you actually have to go into the app and type in 0.00 if you’re not leaving a tip. So lots of people do this. I did Uber driving about five years ago before they deactivated me for no good reason after 5000 rides. And the vast majority of people did not tip. If they would’ve just tipped a dollar or two it would’ve been fine.

And I agree that Instacart is screwing over their employees. By just as you said calling them independent contractors so they don’t have to give them any benefits. These companies make billions of dollars. And so this year alone Instacart for example and I made a thread about this, but they have Raised the prices for customers, while lowering the pay of workers. Imagine that.

Muhammed

Here is one great example showing us how if your a DoorDash driver and take a gigantic order hoping that they will tip later That is a huge risk. Here is something from Walmart 170 items. The guy doesn’t have to shop it but it’s a shit load of stuff to carry pretty much filling up his car

And in the end of it all the customer left no tip. So that customer is a disgrace to America and I’ve said it before they should be banned from the country. Get them the hell out of here

That’s got to be like a $300 order. Tons and tons of items and that customer leaves nothing for the driver. Wow.
