The Truth About TSA Pornoscanners

"the TSA specifies that the body scanners it purchases must have the ability to store and send images when in ‘test mode.’"

I fail to see a problem. you don't want to go through the scanner? Drive or walk.

Well most people are choosing th drive or use other means, it won't be long before fedgov does to the airlines what it did to the railroads.

You are a fucktard, Big time.

.

Thank you, nicest thing anyone has said to me all day.

Show me in the constitution where it says you can get on a plane without going through security.

Show me in the Constitution where it says I have to go through security to get on a plane. You've got it backwards. The Constitution doesn't dictate what my freedoms are; it doesn't have to say I have the right to board a plane without going through security. It's a statute informing the Federal government of the limits of its powers. If it's not listed, they can't do it.

Furthermore, nobody here has argued that we don't need security. That's a straw man. We are arguing against the virtual strip searches because as many sources have already pointed out, they wouldn't have stopped the underwear bomber. They don't need these to make flying safer. They simply need to profile.

The world changed on 9-11-01, and if we don't change a little bit with it then we are fools and we are lost.

It's only changed because we've let it change us. It was the same world on 9-12 that it was on 9-10, we just realized we weren't so invulnerable anymore.

You don't like the security at Airports? Don't fly.

You're afraid your plane will get blown up? Don't fly. Stop being selfish and telling everyone else that they are the ones who have to throw their rights away just so you can feel safe.

Fuckin A. Both of ya.

Show me in the constitution where it even mentions PLANES fer chrise-sake.

And here i thought that security against terrorism during a time of war against terrorism. And since we've just had an Airliner nearly blown up it sort of brings home the point that security on aircraft is kind of necessary in todays world. Unless of course you don't mind planes flying into buildings.

I have more time in the air than I care to think about. When I last returned from Europe my wife and I decided that we would probably never leave the USA again. We drive everywhere. Why? Because we can.

The real resistance to the scanners is by the operators.

Imagine if Rush Limpballs were to be naked in front of you.

They better keep the purple pills and nitro tabs handy.

Relax Confusedatious.

It's still true that NOBODY wants to see your dick. No women and no gay guys. Not even that international group of pervs you imagine: the TSA.

Do you work for TSA?

Are you going to be posting the pictures in your website for a fee? Are you going to be furiously jerking off looking a pictures of underage girls?

German TV on the Failure of Full-Body Scanners

The video is worth watching, even if you don't speak German. The scanner caught a subject's cell phone and Swiss Army knife -- and the microphone he was wearing -- but missed all the components to make a bomb that he hid on his body. Admittedly, he only faced the scanner from the front and not from the side. But he also didn't hide anything in a body cavity other than his mouth -- I didn't think about that one -- he didn't use low density or thinly sliced PETN, and he didn't hide anything in his carry-on luggage.

Full-body scanners: they're not just a dumb idea, they don't actually work.

.

Contumacious..

I was thinking of sending your body scan to Comedy Central or perhaps use it as my Avatar

You were one of those guys who wouldn't change clothes for gym class weren't you?

Has anyone else besides me had to go through one of these (well, I use the term "had" lightly. They give you the option of the scanner or a full pat down, which takes longer and if you are rushing to make your flight.......).

I was mildly amused at the other passengers, to include my wife, at the check point in line craning their necks to try and see the monitor. The actual imagining is sent to a separate location.

Maybe my body scan is out there on the internet now. As long as the TSA cuts me a royalty check, I don't care.

Well I do, I already have enough women chasing me.

I had to go through one once. At first they thought they had discovered a medical anomaly. I had to inform them that, no, I do not have elephantitis of the penis. It just really is that big.

I watched the video and the scanner they used really really sucked. I looked at the other images available around the web, and big fucking deal.

Again get scanned or ride a bike.

Scanners are not effective. AND they are an invasion of privacy. The best thing to catch someone with the makings of a bomb is very low tech...a bomb sniffing dog.

I fly a fair amount, and airport security is a joke. I am a little fat redhead soon to be granny. I get patted down EVERY time I fly because I have a knee replacement. Show the card? Ohhellno, does no good whatsoever. I stand there getting shaken down while middle eastern thug types board the plane untouched.

If you want to see a REALLY big joke of an airport go to JFK in NY. I don't know how that place is still standing.

It wasn't a zucchini wrapped in tin-foil?

Yeah, I was on the TSA watchlist. While I was in the service and had a security clearance.

Why I was on their watchlist? I have no idea. I can only assume it was some sort of screw up, or my name mistakenly made it on there. I have no criminal record or anything to indicate that I am a security risk.

To further support that notion, after getting hassled during every flight I took for a year, one day I went to the airport and wasn't hassled and have not been hassled since that time.

Again, another straw man. You're avoiding the actual topic here. Nobody is arguing against security, we're arguing against the nudie machines which as pointed out ad nauseum would not have stopped that airliner from nearly being blown up on Christmas. That was a failure of communications between international intelligence organizations. He was on the watch list and they let him on anyway.

I have more time in the air than I care to think about. When I last returned from Europe my wife and I decided that we would probably never leave the USA again. We drive everywhere. Why? Because we can.

I fly all the time for my job and I'm not paranoid about my plane being blown up.

Again, how about you ride the bike instead of telling everyone else to hand more of their freedom over to the Federal government. You don't know how to respond to this, do you?

What freedom?

The freedom not to have a machine scan your body to see if you are a threat to fellow human beings? That freedom?

I like about 90 or so percent of what you say, but to the extent that Libertarianism translates into considering this a deprivation of "freedom," then your position falls squarely into the other roughly 10%.

I have seen the images. Very young children could draw better images of the human figure and have about as much luck in making it even moderately pornographic.

On what do you base your statement that they are not effective? And dogs are one of the easiest to fool. Ask any druggie.

Not one bit paranoid, But after 22 years of flying around the world we will now take our time and see the USA.
