This media-culture vignette was inspired by the Americana-dissection series Northern Exposure.

America was filled with interesting cities and towns, and Springfield was no different. Springfield contained many colorful residents and often saw a few celebrities passing through looking for vacation-time in an offbeat but well-connected area by the snowy mountains in Colorado (i.e., scenery). The Springfield radio-DJ was an Algerian-American named Ajay who was also a graduate of Yale University. Ajay made his daily 6-8 pm radio-broadcast, playing eclectic music (e.g., Bela Fleck, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Rob Zombie) to a multi-generation audience while providing some lightly-toned sociopolitical commentary (e.g., "TrumpUSA just might invite North Korean premier to a casino buffet!").

One day, TV-actress and American personality Lori Loughlin (star of Full House and Hallmark Channel holiday-movies) wandered into Springfield (alone) looking for downtime in the scenic area. She was donning thick sunglasses and a big hat to camouflage herself and found herself in a Springfield gift-shop while the owner was playing Ajay's broadcast on his stereo. Loughlin overheard Ajay (who went by the radio-avatar alias 'DJ Destiny') say, "I wonder if celebrities wandering into Springfield ever notice that a few women here who don dreadlock hairstyles even though this is not a 'hippie-town' seem ironically sensitive about cosmopolitan fashions!" The gift-shop owner noticed Loughlin listening to Ajay's social critique and remarked himself, "Who cares if dreadlock-chicks are fashion-sensitive?" to which Loughlin replied, "I think DJ Destiny is talking about appearance-based bigotry!"

Loughlin was so moved by Ajay's radio pizazz that she decided to walk into his show the next day and sit in as a celebrity guest.

AJAY: Thanks for coming in today, Lori!
LORI: It's my pleasure to be here, Ajay.
AJAY: Springfield is always blessed by celebrity interest.
LORI: It's a scenic area.
AJAY: As you know, I broadcast to a multicultural audience.
LORI: This is an eclectic little town...
AJAY: Something right out of a Stephen King novel maybe.
LORI: Am I the first celebrity to appear on your show?
AJAY: No. You're the second. George Clooney was the first.
LORI: Clooney came to Springfield?
AJAY: Yeah. About four years ago. I was only 30 then...
LORI: So how would you 'characterize' Springfield.
AJAY: It's a small American place that despises small-talk.
LORI: I'd call it the 'modern Camelot.'
AJAY: Why?
LORI: There's nothing overtly commercial about the people!
AJAY: Isn't that charming? Blame Trump for 'cultural vanity.'
LORI: Maybe Springfield will see a 'socialism-sting.'
