Even if it's only 8 inches, where are the photographs of New York submerged? London? Rio? Houston? Miami? St. Augustine?

Why is the beach known as Omaha in WW2 still a beach? Why are the refuge points on the shore outside of Herculeneum where the good people hid in the falling ash 2000 years ago still above water today? They were on the beach waiting for rescue boats.
