‘The second wave has begun’................nice work, Trumpleton's.

False dichotomy. The economy is crucial to freedom and to human life. Trash the economy, and people are prevented from producing, distributing, selling, buying, obtaining food and other essentials, needed for survival. There is no choice between life and economy. Trash the economy, and you're trashing human lives along with it.
False choice. The CDC protocols are designed for a safe, sustainable re-opening. Everyone recognizes the economy needs to be re-opened. Re-opening too soon, favored by Trump and many Repub governors, is already causing costly setbacks.
"Sustainable?" Is that where everyone starves?

A second wave of coronavirus has started in the U.S. — and people need to remain careful or risk stressing out the health-care system again, said William Schaffner, a professor at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

“The second wave has begun,” said the professor of medicine told CNBC’s “Street Signs Asia” on Monday. “We’re opening up across the country, but many, many people are not social distancing, many are not wearing their masks.”

Even so, he said he “cannot imagine” a second shutdown due to the impact of the first one.

Thanks to right wing nutbags exercising their "freedom" (to get the virus) because they rejected the "tyranny" of being socially responsible so a second wave didn't happen. You must be thrilled that you've set the country back. Hopefully, these worthless pieces of shit parading outside the halls of government with their automatic weapons don't decide speed limits are tyranny too.

Here's your second wave you moronic cocksucker:

Uh....well maybe not......

Clearly, the liar berg80 does not understand data. The rise starting on March 10 is a wave.

Do you see that same climb on the right side of the graph.

NO

Second Wave ==> Total bullshit

Covid-19 has really put this country on notice. Is our economy more important than our freedom and human lives? The answer will lie in the ramp up to a vaccine.

Gawd but you\re stupid. That's a level of hive mind that the Borg would really appreciate.

The economy will ALWAYS exist, whether corporations continue to exist or not, because people will always exchange their talents, abilities and what they produce, for things that they cannot provide for themselves. The economy existed when people lived in caves.
Yeah, because prosperity has always existed in every country. No one has ever experience poverty or starvation.

Yes it has. Since the days of the cave man. Properity will always exist, because some people have skills which are more prized than others. Which skills will give you "prosperity" have varied throughout time. The best hunter could exchange a portion of his kill to the best seamstress in the cave, to give him the best shoes, and robes. He could trade for the best spears. He had the best skins for his bed. What defines "prosperity" differs according to time, culture, and what a society values.

Prosperity has existed in every country. What rarely exists is "equity". The USA doesn't has "properity", it has wealth for some, subsistence for nearly half of the population. Subsistence is NOT "prosperity".

LOL guess they should have shouted "blacks live matter" and robbed some stores , then you would have been cool with their protests.

Anyone who advocates for tolerating illegal immigration at all just needs to shut the fuck up on this issue. If you cared, at all, about the economic plight of poor black Americans you would INSIST that we control illegal immigration, because NO group sees their wages depressed more due to illegal immigration than poor blacks. PERIOD.

Not to mention obvious things like how much money we're spending educating illegal alien children that could instead be used to improve inner city schools.

Democrats want to keep blacks poor dumb and scared though.

Wrong. Throughout world history, abject poverty has been the norm. Until about 20 years ago, the per capital income for most of the people in Chine as less than $2/day. The same goes for India. No one who lived in these countries at the time thought they were prosperous.

Claims like that are why you aren't worth debating. You're an idiot.

If the economy is "trashed", how are people prevented from producing or selling their goods or talents? I may not be able to ship my goods around the world like I do now, but I can still sell to my neighbours and my town. In fact, I'll probably have a really good business making and selling clothing once you can't got down to Giant Tiger and buy a shirt for $5. I'll have all the business I can handle. And I can use those skills to pay for or barter for meat and produce from the local farmers, and other things I need.

I'm pretty sure one of the clever chaps around town will come up with a way to connect us to the hundreds of windmills in the country, keeping our power going. There's only 45,000 people in our county and one windmill, will provide power for 250 homes and we have 200 windmills, so power won't be an issue.

What will disappear is the concept of conglomerates, corporations, and "big business". The economy will be provisioning the local populations.

Democrats are so worried about the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Raja's and Rani's weren't prosperous? The kings and Queens of Europe weren't prosperous. The Roman Senators?

Prosperity isn't based on the amount of your monetary income, it's based on your standard of living. A teacher in Brazil makes $800 per month U.S. That's a middle class income in SanPaolo. He owns a house, a car, and he has a nice life. People on welfare get $800 per month here, and they sure don't live as well as my Brazilian friend.

It's not how much earn that is the issue, it's kind of life your income provides.

I mean the whole population, dingbat, not the top 0.0001%.

Someone who makes $800/month in Brasil is not comparable to someone in middle class America. A car in Brasil costs just as much as a car in the USA. So does a flat screen TV, a cell phone and a color TV.

People aren't trying to come here from around the globe. They're coming from Third World countries because they believe that the streets of America are paved with gold, and that the USA is still the land of opportunity is was before conserveratives and conservatism took over, and set about to preserve white government and while privilege come hell or high water.

40 years of Conservative economic policies have created the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the world - all of it from the working and middle class workers of the USA, to the top 10% of the wealthiest individuals and corporations in the nation.

Amazon - the most profitable company in America paid $0 in federal incomee taxes last year. Jeff Bezos is about to become the world's first "trillionaire", thanks to the corona virus. Walmart, Target, and Amazon were declared "essential businesses" during the shut down and stayed open, but mom and pop groceries stores, and businesses, were forced to close.

Three economic crashes in 40 years under Republican fiscal policies. Freemarket banking and market reforms have created higher volatility, in the market, and each round of massive tax cuts has resulted in an economic crash which has most impacted low wage and minority workers the hardest. The government keeps bailing out the corporations and the wealthy - too big to fail, and leaving working Americans to fend for themselves. With every economic crash, the rich have gotten richer, and more and more of the wealth in the nation is concentrated at the top.

THAT is the failure of conservatism in America. 40 years of Republican fiscal policies have left Americans sick, broke and angry.

And the only response Donald Trump has to the death, disease and destruction, is a police state crackdown on the protests, and brutal oppression of the anger.
