...legislated and enacted into law should apply to law enforcement and any other non-military government agency. Law enforcement and other non-military agencies are only empowered to serve and protect the citizens. If it's been deemed a "assault firearm" by the government and should not be available to the general public then those "assault firearms" and equipment that are deemed only for military use should remain in the purview of the military. The citizen is not the enemy of the government and should have the same right to purchase any firearm and equipment that the government allows law enforcement and other non-military agencies to obtain.
