Thus far, this bill gives a huge tax break to wealthy families, gives insurance companies the right to keep the ill on the bill, but can and will raise prices at will. Its a joke a real joke!!

Yes, I'm disappointed as well. It's Obamacare-lite. I would only support it if they allowed insurance sales over state lines and nothing else. No preexisting conditions (who would insure someone AFTER they wrecked the car for that wreck?) no mandate, nothing. You either buy insurance with your own money from anyone who will insure you or you self insure. Health savings accounts, tax free money in and out with interest, I'd support those. But I'm a libertarian for a reason. It's the preexisting conditions that are driving up the costs. If you keep that you mine as well keep Obamacare.

I think the problem is, establishment Republicans don't want to get rid of Obamacare. They want to do a few cute little tweaks to mostly satisfy lobbyists and slap their name on it and call it a day. This bill does nothing to address the underlying problem with Obamacare and ANY serious health care reform and that it the cost of care.

I don't understand why something has to replace Obamacare. Why can't Republicans repeal Obamacare and send it to Trump's desk? First, we were told it was because Republicans didn't control anything but the House, so we gave them the Senate, then it was-- we don't control the White House.... Okay, now what is the excuse?

Obama started this mess by claiming our health care system was broken.

I never could figure out what was broken? Anyone could buy health insurance. And those people without money or insurance could go to any hospital's ER and by law must receive medical care. So in essence we already had universal health care. ....

The republicans need Obamacare, they need the democrats blocking their version, they need all these things in order RUN IN 2018, without it, they'll have to confront a base, who is not in safe districts and who want answers, something they never seem to bring to a fight....its always anti ACA or Obama, etc....this time, they're on their own.

How in the hell do you allow a mandate and those that fail to comply, HAVE TO REWARD THE INSURANCE COMPANIES?????? HOW DO YOU THEN ALLOW THE INDUSTRY TO DECIDE ON HOW MUCH TO CHARGE PRE EXISTANCE PATIENTS? HOW DO YOU REWARD COMPANIES, WHO DECIDE TO OPT OUT ALL TOGETHER?

I knew you were an idiot, I just didn't know how much.....Do you think those without insurance got a free ride? It was people like you and I fool that paid for that ER visit...moron

Obama didn't start it... you can go back to the days of FDR and find these pinhead progressives lobbying for Nationalized health care. This was one of the issues that pushed Ronald Reagan into politics.

Along the way, they have done everything they can to burden private sector health care with regulations and mandated costs, all designed and intended to drive costs up so the consumer is outraged and demands it to be nationalized. This is a diabolic plan the progressives have worked on for nearly a century.

Those same people get a free ride with or without Obozocare, and we tax payers get the bill either way. .....

My problem with Obozocare is that it's un-Constitutional because it forces by law a health tax on people. .....

I agree. My problem is, the Democrats, and apparently now, establishment Republicans are like the ex-con at the carnival selling you tickets to ride the broken rollercoaster. Being forced to pay would be bad enough but we're being forced to pay for access to a broken system.

It was the Health care bill in the 70's that Carter vetoed that cost him the election in 1980.

The far left turned on him and wanted him gone for defying them!

The establishment Republicans gave lip service to repealing Obozocare in order to pander to their voter base. But they never had any real intentions of doing anything about it.

Then suddenly there was Trump in the drivers seat, who is serious about a repeal.

This caught the establishment hacks flat footed. And now they are in panic mode, with no plan and no ideas. ......

Kick health care back to the private sector where it belongs.

Open up the country so insurance companies can sell in every state. Competition drives costs down.

Sunni, I wish people like you had brains, read the GOP version....those penalties the feds impose on those that don't get insurance...now goes directly to the health insurance companies. Those with chronic illness's can keep their insurance, but the industry will decide how much they'll have to pay in premiums, not the feds....read the bill and think instead of lashing out on unconstitutional bull shit. Stop playing to a base that is completely void of common decency and concern.

I figured out what was broken: Not being able to sell insurance across state lines.

Here's why: Each state has one person or a small committee in charge of insurance rates (comptrollers)

Health insurance lobbyists (who spend the most of any lobbyists) have been bribing these comptrollers to allow companies to increase their premiums year after year after year for going on around 20 years now.

The price just keeps going up and up and up.

The solution: Allow insurance to be sold across state lines and let the free market determine cost of medical care.

There will have to be a transitional phase between teh Obamacare and doing that so as not to leave a ton of people in the lurch.

I couldn't agree more.

Competition drives prices down. Let the insurance companies compete, prices will go down.

I'm a cheap bitch and I will spend the least amount of money I can for the best services I can get.

The real joke is socialism and forcing successful people to pay for other people's healthcare.
If people don;t have insurance & go to the hospital, who do you think pays? Those that use those facilities in higher rates to recover that service.

When you buy insurance & don't use it, you are paying for others to get care. If you do use it, your rates go up until you don;t use all of it.

Trump said the plan would insure everyone. It doesn't. Trump still supports it. Is he a liar?
