Over there
I watched a video on which a comedian (Dana Carvey) was very successful in portraying the voices of various celebrities and a question arose:
We do not know how the voices of celebrities, who lived before the beginning of sound recording sound, but what if someone already in the era of recording depicted the voice of a person, who lived before this era? Well, for example, someone, who heard Abe Lincoln live, did his voice and it was recorded.
Is there any such recording that can give us a rough idea of what the voices of 19th century celebrities sounded like?
Even more precisely, the voices of celebrities of the middle and second half of the 19th century, for we can hardly count on the fact that anyone, who heard Napoleon lived to record the sound. That's the question I have. Thank you

Wax cylinders have recordings of Mark Twain and others they are in Washington D.C.
Mark Twain as well as, for example, Leo Tolstoy, celebrities of the 19th century, themselves lived to the age of recording. The question was whether there is a recording of a person copying the voice of a celebrity who did not live to be recorded.
