Is Babylon 5 liberal, libertarian, or conservative?

I think it was kind of all over the map. At least in terms of the conflict between the human characters and the Clark government, they set up this fascist dictatorship that really, no one could sensibly support.

On the other hand, G'Kar's "We Will Be Free" speech was a great bit of anti-colonialism.

It depends on which characters and what issues your dealing with. Home world governments were conservative. The Earth Alliance seemed pretty conservative to me and the PsiCorps sure as hell was. The Minbari were very ritualistic, very traditional, etc. The Vorlons were absolutely conservative. The whole show is a tug of war between the two.

The concept of using Babylon 5 (specific)appears very liberal but when you look at who held the power on Babylon 5 then you're looking at one group that made the decisions---and fifty others with their own motives.
