I am not sure about the high energy part of the job being true, but whatever. I think it is probably somewhat related to 9/11 being a disruptive event to the industry, followed by the recession followed by COVID. When layoffs happen, the older senior people stay and the young people have to go out and find something else to do for a living. It throws the demographics off from the natural ebb and flow. You end up with a gray-hair heavy industry.

Causes of death​

Veterans Affairs investigators discovered the inconsistencies more than two years ago by cross-checking federal databases, but the FAA has kept many details of the case a secret from the public.
