It argues that while Republicans succeeded in turning the $787 billion measure into a political liability for Democrats, the law largely worked. “The Recovery Act helped ease a lot of pain,” Grunwald writes, “and helped avert a depression that would have caused immeasurable pain.”

Nice, you deflected. I don't have a "republican party TM. I liked and voted for Paul. The closest the Republican party has come to that is Harding and Coolidge, the guys that ended a depression in 18 months and had a booming economy their entire presidencies.
