The Moribund GOP.....

Heck, I may rethink my long-standing conviction that we should have let Texas secede (except for Austin) from the Union.....LOL

LOL! A circle jerk of incompetents and boobs.
Yeah a state entirely run by Republicans is sure to go Democrat any day now. Just ask Gov. Wendy Davis.
Yes, Republicans refuted the obvious---Texas isnt going Democrat in your lifetime.

Well, I may be getting a bit old to see Texas turn blue in my lifetime, but who knows how fast those demographics will take effect.....Its a race between my heart and young Hispanics signing up to vote.....

Here's an interesting map of Texas and note the pretty "blues" and "purples".... Obama carried the Four largest cities in TX in 2012

Based on the above map, I predict that right wingers in TX will soon be asking for that "border fence" to be built a little further north and east...

Hispanic Americans aren't stupid, they know the right's hostility toward immigration is predicated on an unwarranted fear of an America becoming 'more brown.'

Although the majority of Hispanics/Latinos are here LEGALLY, they empathize with the plight of the 12 million "illegals" and they well KNOW which political party is steadfastly trying to thwart any path toward legalization of these migrants.....

In the long run, it is actually "good" that right wingers neglect to recognize this major flaw in their policies since such will bring them....in the words of Cheney in another context........"to their death throes."
The vast majority of Hispanic Americans are citizens, born in the US, whose families have been here as long as many white Americans, if not longer - and most are supporting Democratic candidates in response to the hostility they see coming from the GOP concerning immigration.
LOL! Yeah, tell us more stories.

I love listening to leftwing kooks, kooks who are borderline Fabian Socialists telling the GOP what they must do to come back to reality... the modern day Democrat is as out of touch with reality as pretty much anyone.

Here, soggybrain....you don't have to answer on here, but just think (if possible) on your own about these 2 questions:

1. Is it true that the Hispanic/Latino population is dramatically increasing in Texas?

2. Is it also true, as trends have shown, that such Hispanic/Latino LEGAL voters usually and overwhelmingly vote for democrats?
1> Perhaps, for now.
2. ABsolutely not. This has been posted over and over again. You refuse to believe it because you are stupid. Hispanics split evenly in the last statewide election. With the GOP concentrating on them the numbers should improve from there.

Tell me how Hispanics, who are hard working family people very dedicated to the Catholic Church are going to go for the party of abortion, gay marriage, welfare, and higher taxes.

Hey, rabbi,,,,notice anything on how the trend is going with Hispanics on the charts below??? Obama got 71% vs. 27% for Romney...

And for the LAST time, we are talking about PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CYCLES...not midterms.

Just to refresh our collective memory, the two states with the most electoral votes are California (55) and Texas (39).....Of these two, we all know that California is as blue as the mood of right wingers regarding their aspirations to regain the WH.....

But to add to the GOPers' misery, is the real fact that Texas' Hispanic/Latino population is now at about 44%..............and based on demographic data, by 2020 the state of Texas' white population will be in the minority , while Hispanics will be in the majority by 2036.

Unless the GOP leadership stops its xenophobic attitudes toward Hispanics/Latinos and begins to truly embrace the causes and needs of this wave of ethnic migrants (and not just make lame attempts to have the likes of a Cruz or Rubio trying to come off as caring for such migrants).....the Republican party will slowly perish into irrelevance.

.
These Catholic conservative Latinos?

Be careful what you wish for....

.

Catholic yes, conservative? Only in your wet dreams.

I guess we will find out. Like all strategic political plans that look so good on paper....

..

Please tell us all exactly how the extreme rightwing GOP plans on appealing to the growing Hispanic and Latino demographic in the future?

.
Probably by not being extreme left wing.

Please tell us about all the good things left wing politics has bestowed upon Latin American culture.

Venezuela might be a contemporary starting point.

.

:lmao:

Thanks for admitting that you came up with big fat zero when it came to explaining how the extreme rightwing GOP plans on appealing to the growing Hispanic and Latino demographic in the future.

Well, in "fairness," right wingers came up with Cruz and Rubio....however, the bad news for them is that Hispanic-sounding names are obviously NOT enough, especially since those 2 republicans are, the former NUTS (a-la Bachmann) and the latter CLUELESS (a-la Palin.)

Repubs should retaliate by sponsoring the illegal immigration of 100 million chinks to establish a yellowish white majority? Makes as much sense as the stupid OP.

And that's the part that's so strange. On paper, Latinos are a perfect match for what Republcians say they believe in. Family, faith, conservative social values, entrepreneurship, hard work, living with your means, etc.. Latinos as a group frequently embody all of those values.

If not for all the xenophobic shit that mires what the GOP actually believes, they may well be republicans.

Of course, you're correct....heck if it weren't for the xenophobia, childish tit-for-tat policies, war-hawkishness, and religious zealotry, I'd be a republican also.....
But then I would have to say that I'm a republican like the poster just before you that refers to Asians as "chinks"......and, luckily, I'm saner than that.

The fake rabbit has a very, very hard time understanding that there is absolutely no real correlation between a mid-term election and the next General Election (presidential cycle), this has been proven over and over and over. Were that the case, then Adlai Stevenson would have been elected President in 1956 and Dukakis would have beaten Bush 43 in 1988.

Here an exhaustive look at the actual results:

I am sure that in a universe somewhere, that made sense.

But not in ours.

Extreme reactionary RWNJs like yourself just cannot help themselves, what?

"chinks"?

Really?

Okm et's see how this kind of racism works out for your side. This is one of Pete Hoekstra's (R-MI) Senate ads from 2012:

Final results:

United States Senate election in Michigan 2012 - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Stabenow 2012 Senatorial election.png

Margin: Stabenow +20.8%, a massive landslide of almost +1,000,000 votes over RWNJ racist Hoekstra (R-Teabhagistan). Her winning margin was double that of President Obama's over vanquished GOP nominee Mitt Romney (Obama +9.5%). There is no doubt that Hoekstra's racism played a large role in losing this badly.

Please note that this Senate race happened during a Presidential election cycle. Just imagine what is going to happen with many Senatorial races in 2016...

Back to that racist ad:

United States Senate election in Michigan 2012 - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

...In the HTML code on Hoekstra’s site the woman in the ad was reportedly previously identified as “yellowgirl.”[29] It has since been removed.

Asian-American groups called the ad “very disturbing”, national GOP consultant Mike Murphy said it was “really, really dumb”, and Foreign Policy magazine managing editor Blake Hounshell called it “despicable.” A coalition of black ministers in Detroit called for Hoekstra to apologize. Two of Hoekstra’s GOP opponents, Clark Durant and Gary Glenn, questioned whether Hoekstra is the right candidate for Republicans to support.[30] The ad was called “blatantly racist" by Michael Yaki, former aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Journalist James Fallows of The Atlantic called it the "most revolting ad".[31] The NAACP denounced the ad as an "unnecessary race card."

So, deltex1 , in the name of the Democratic Party, I ask you to keep on doing what you are doing. You are doing excellent recruiting work - for us.

Thanks!

:D

True. George W. Bush (43) did the best among Latinos of any GOP presidential nominee since people have been recording this demographic in prez cycles. His 40% of the Latino vote represents the current high-water mark for the GOP in this electoral rubrik.

Now, Lefties can strongly criticize his decision to go to war in Iraq, but I have always like the man, the person, found him to be a man of belief, of conviction, a family man, a loving father and husband. AND, he really did try to push through his form of immigration reform in 2006, which was firmly jettisoned by his own party. This proves that a GOP nominee who at least looks sane on paper and doesn't say stupid stuff like Latinos should "self-deport", whilst having "binders of women" (thank you, Mitt), could even have a shot at the Latino vote.

And remember, back then, Latinos were only 8% of the electorate in 2004, as opposed to 10% of the electorate in 2012. I suspect they will be 11%, maybe 12% of the electorate in 2016. The means that the GOP will have even less of the White vote to depend on in order somehow cobble together 269 EV +1.

Any yet, with 40% of the Latino vote in his pocket and a strong majority of Cuban Latinos in FL on his side in that year, Bush only won nationally by +2.46% over Democrat John Kerry.

If a Republican wants to even have a chance in 2016, he MUST attract the Latino vote in a way where they know that when he is speaking of immigration, he does not lump Latinos who are legal US Citizens in with illegal aliens, most of whom are indeed Latinos. This is where the GOP has shot itself in the foot over and over and over again and still to this day has not learned from this mistake. Even Reince Priebus' "autopsy" from 2012 cannot keep GOPers from shooting off at the mouth about Latinos and they are utterly stupid if they think that Latinos aren't paying attention. THEY ARE.

The above sentence reminds me of the old story about the scorpion and the frog crossing a river.....If you know the story, you'd know that it ends with the scorpion basically saying that although his actions were suicidal, he couldn't help himself because his action "were in his nature."
