As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over the Weathermen prosecution in 1972), I am amazed and outraged that Senator Barack Obama is being linked to William Ayers’s terrorist activities 40 years ago when Mr. Obama was, as he has noted, just a child.

Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.

Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago

I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of “prosecutorial misconduct.” It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director.

noone is linking obama to the specfic acts Ayers did. Just the poor judgement he has to even sit at the same table with him.

Would any of you have dinner with the uni bomber or bin laden?

Are you the kind of person that only talks with people who agree with you or do you discuss your ideas with people who disagree with you and who are so far from what you believe in, it's like another country?

If you stay around your own kind, people who agree with you, you'll never grow beyond who you are. If you expand, allow yourself to see something from someone else's point of view, you might understand them better.

Fundamentalism is what caused 9/11. Fundamentalism needs to be eradicated.

What are you babbling about. The GOP isn't saying Obama bombed buildings. They are saying that what kind of fucking common sense does he have to launch his political carreer in his living room. To sit on a board with this guy. It was known back then what he did and how he wasn't sorry for it. He said he wished he did more.

Would any of you have dinner with this guy?

What kind of man COURTS William Ayers when he's running for office? What kind of pig wants someone like William Ayers, who said the DAY AFTER 9/11 in 2001 that he wished he'd done more bombings himself, to rally his "friends" for fund raisers?

You guys wish this would go away, but it won't. Ayers is a pig, and Obama's a pig for associating with him.

Under the right circumstances, yes, I certainly would. I firmly believe the best way to understand a threat is to become as knowledgeable about it as possible. Why on EARTH would you pass up an opportunity to learn about potential threats to our country?

Obama has stated he didn't know who Ayres was.

I sure as hell didn't until earlier this year.

It's isn't Fundamentalist to have standards which preclude association with TERRORISTS, Dumbass.

You don't make terrorism go away by pretending they're nice guys, and ignoring it.

and they both wear lipstick. Michelle worked in a law office with Bernadette 20 years ago. And no, no respectable person respects bill ayers.

That's how we know what a liar Obama is. Or dumb as dirt. Either way he is not fit to be a President.

Who owned the board that Obama and Ayers sat on?

Annenberg!

he is a republican with ties to everyone including Reagan.

Why did he allow Ayers on this board?

What kind of person (j. McCain) sits on the board of an organization that is both anti-semitic and racist?

What kind of man gets involved in the Keating Five?

What kind of man starts a hate campaign because he is down in the polls?

What kind of man eats raw fries and scrambled eggs with ketchup?:cuckoo:

More of the same:

You have absolutely nothing to be proud of.

How many of us would demonize a group that tried to end our occupation in Iraq? These defense and oil billionaires are using our soldiers and money for their profits.

Isn't it clear now that Iraq & Viet Nam were not wars that were fought for "we the people". They were fought for a small number of rich Americans who's goal was to rape our treasury.

I don't approve of violence, but sometimes I wish I had the balls to show civil disobedience.

then I suppose those Republicans and Independents who sat on that board showed poor judgement as well huh?

ANnenberg, the founder of the foundation, was a close personal friend to Ronald Reagan you moron!

So Obama sat on a board with a close personal friend of Ronald Reagan?

That may be enough for me to vote against Obama right there!

Facts dont matter to those who are left in the republican party.

Its all about their party and they dont care about what is best for our country anymore.

nope, it's all about staying in power.

McCain has sold his soul to the devil for the chance to be President. It's sad. I admired him at one time. Now he's just a pathetic republican tool
