Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.
A handful of organizers noticed the raw pork on the John D'Amato Field at New Dorp Park in New Dorp Beach on Sunday at 7:30 a.m., NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
Police are linking the incident with comments that were posted below an Aug. 17 Staten Island Advance story that previewed the Muslim ceremony. The offensive comments have since been removed.
"On a website associated with this celebration were some derogatory comments," said Kelly.
"At the site itself, three packages of raw bacon were found. This has been determined to be a biased event [by] the hate crime task force and it's being investigated."

2. "A 19-year-old Michigan college student was recovering Tuesday after he says his jaw was broken and his mouth stapled shut in a vicious beating that allegedly started because he is Jewish.
Zach Tennen, a sophomore at Michigan State University, said he was at an off-campus party in East Lansing early Sunday when he was approached by two males who asked if he was Jewish. They then raised their arms in a Nazi salute and yelled "Heil Hitler," he said.
"They said they were part of the KKK," he said.
Tennen was knocked unconscious and while he was out, he says his mouth was stapled shut. When he woke, he stumbled from the house, taking a taxi to a nearby hospital.
Police said it was too early to call the assault a hate crime."
