Although with certain disabilities, the Mitsubishi G4M was one of the pillars of the Japanese Air Force, especially during the early years of WW2, collecting numerous victories in many bombing missions. You almost gotta laugh about the FDR administration's response to Japanese pre-war military technology. The geniuses in the administration and the Military determined that the Japanese weren't capable of building a plane that would fly or a ship that would float because of some sort of biological nearsighted or balance problem evident in the "yellow race".

Yes, FDR should have told the military and about Japanese airplanes, and in particular the Zero rather than the Betty. The poor US Air Force wondering what type of planes the Japanese had, and FDR didn't say a word. Apparently FDR also didn't tell the US Navy that Japan had ships.
