The Full Court Press on Trump

All MAGAs wanted was an honest election that everyone could accept no matter which way it went and they didnt get it
An honest election is subjective.

To me an honest election is one where there is no Electoral College bullshit, no voter suppression attempts against minorities, and you are man enough to accept the results.

That isn't what you MAGAts want.

The electoral college is as old as the Constitution and represents a compromise between the large and small states

This means that a system designed for 13 states in the 18th century doesn't make it a good system for 50 states in the 21st century.

IT wasn't even a good system at the time, which is why it had to be modified by the 12th Amendment.

Time to chuck it over the side.

Nothing much has changed

It used to be New York and Virginia against smaller states like Rhode Island

Now its california vs Nevada

So much has changed. It would have been nearly impossible to have a national election in the 18th century.

Except that the states and the people that live in them are not identical

We dont want only a few states like california to have too much influence

A size of state had nothing to do with the interests of the state itself.

As for having states with too much influence, they’re called swing states. The thing you don’t want? It’s happening to a far worse degree.

Without the EC a few large states can swing the results in every election and override the interests of smaller states

No, they really can‘t. States have people and the people vote however they want.

Once you take the “state” out of the election, you’re just left with people who have their own interests.

An uberlib state like california has a lot of ways to dominate smaller states that may not want abortion on demand even as late as the 4th trimester

But federal laws concocted by libs could make that happen

Actually, it was stupid then, and it was stupid now.

The states already have representation in the Senate.

The presidency should be about what the population as a whole wants.

Now, I could give you a whole list of why the EC is objectively awful, but the fact is, it's the only way you can win with white grievance Politics.

Or Republicans could nominate someone who hasn't been indicted 91 times, found liable for sexual assault, and is about to have his organization dismantled for fraud.

Are you really saying this was the best you could come up with?

Or is it you just don't want to admit you made a mistake.

Holy Sunk Cost Fallacy, Batman!
They won't admit they fell for the con.or as Mark Twain put it so well "it is easier to fool a man than it is to convince him he has been fooled".

Given the awesome power that presidents have today the EC is needed to prevent a leftwing dictatorship

States do have interests

Some have few people but much agriculture while others are mostly urban

And their interests are not the same

California is very big and very liberal

We dont want the whole nstion mismanaged the way it is in the Golden State

No they don't. Without the electoral college, the state has no authority. No power. No voice. Without the electoral college, it's just voters.

Take the power away from states. Give the power to the people.

ANd that's why big empty squares in the middle of the plains get two senators.

What state is solely urban? What state has only agriculture?

None of them. Zero. Zilch.

Every state has a collection of people with different interests. Washington has a large urban center, which overrides the interests of the rural voters. The rural voters of Idaho override the interests. of the urban citizens. Neither is more important than the other, but random circumstance would eliminate the votes of some as opposed to the others simply based on arbitrary lines on a map.

Let the voters speak, not states.

More power to the people. Less power to the state. What's wrong with that?

California has more people and more votes than Iowa

So it gets what it wants at the expense of smaller states
