Much of the failure of republican messaging is spawned by a lack of understanding of liberal strategy and tactics, or at the very least a failure to define what these strategies and tactics are. This post will be about the strategies.

In the most advanced countries like the US, thankfully basic human needs have been met. People are so well fed that obesity is a problem. Shelter is no longer just protection from the elements, but ac and hot water and microwaves. Security from foreign aggressions is taken for granted. Violence on any scale has become taboo. War on any grande scale has become too lethal to contemplate. Diversions from boring lives are myriad with drugs, video games, cell phones, pornagraphy, and movies abundantly available. In short, as a culture, we are comfortably numb.

But power and control are still commodities in high demand by a select few. If one can no longer gain control with bread and circuses, huge armies, or through dictatorship, one has to adjust to a new normal. Today increasingly battles are not being waged over real estate and territory, but rather for space in everyone's head. Mind control is the new weapon of choice and unfortunately liberals are way ahead in this arms race. Thought control is cheap, nimble, and constantly morphing into new disguises. The proliferation of social media, electronic devices(which each individual pays for himself), and a 24/7 news cycle accelerates the effect of political suggestion.

Most alarming of all the trends in this hyperactive period is the rise of emotion over reason. Reason takes too long, takes too much effort, and often requires research and study. Emotion answers a need for instant gratification and addresses the shortcomings of a brainwashed mind. Emotions are easily transferred to others, more, organic, and not easily subject to misinterpretation. They are strong and forceful, more empowering than thought, and ripe for manipulation. The left, already schooled in the thought control of Marxism and socialism, understands the opportunity to manage the actions of the majority in a way that let's them control the outcomes of political events and therefore the power. To cement these outcomes though, the left has to institute certain rules of engagement that mandate a compliant, mindless, and unconscious citizenry. Hence the four freedoms

Freedom from knowledge

Freedom from thought

Freedom from discomfort

Freedom from accountability

Freedom from knowledge is being happily enforced by our educational system at taxpayer expense. History is being literally rewritten everyday to conform to a Age of Victimology scenario. American history is no longer a requirement to even get into some of the most elite schools. Instead of emphasizing the greatness of our founders and their creation, we are told that being slaveholders negates their accomplishments. This is akin to 250 years from now being told that Americans are criminals for driving cars. The onslaught to erase the history of our nation serves to manufacture a who,e generation of rudderless individuals searching for a direction liberals are all too happy to give them.

Freedom from thought is on display every day. Take the fellow at google. He takes the time to write a reasoned essay on how to make google better and he is blackballed immediately. Right leaning speakers at colleges are violently prevented from speaking a different viewpoint. Democratic politicians who suggest they could get some things done with trump are keel-hauled. Or take the two law professors trying to suggest a route to a more civil society. They are run out of town on a rail. The religious purity demanded by the left is nothing short of a modern Inquisition.

Freedom from discomfort. Safe spaces anyone? Trump derangement syndrome? No exams because we are so upset. Don't name my sex. Don't make me get a job. Don't make me interact with people I don't like. In effect, don't make me face reality.

Freedom from accountability. It's not my fault that I rioted and vandalized, the white overlords made me do it. I shouldn't have to pay back my student loans. I'll get pregnant if I want to. I'm gonna do drugs instead of taking care of my kids. I am going to make babies instead of taking care of my kids. I broke, the law but it was for a good cause so I should not be indicted. I disrespected the president but I am still a good American. I am here illegally but you should still give me everything I want.

You can overlay these four freedoms over any event or argument or debate and find they apply. Liberals have to have an uneducated public, group think, political correctness, and a clear absence of individualism to succeed. If the citizenry can be brainwashed from the cradle, herded like sheep, and placated with freebies they can be manipulated. Such a goal is what the left seeks to attain, and, they are,a,lot, closer,to,reaching their goal than independent freedom loving people are to stopping them. For today's liberal, the end game is to have a populace free from freedom.

Interesting long post where you have grouped a whole bunch of ppl together
in an overly simplistic way of creating an evil "them".

"Team think" is going to be my new term for posts like this.

The caveman says, "My team good, your team bad".

So far....an outstanding O. P.

And, a child-like response from the very type of person already caught up in the Brainwashing being discussed in the O. P.

In all. a fine theoretical assessment, complimented by the perfect example of the theory in practice.

The OP is nonsense and steals from the original Four Freedoms of FDR, so it is not original nor creative.

These attempts to make people fit so neatly into camps are childish XXXX - Mod Edit -- the personal comments are not CDZ material. Toronado3800

Most people are right sometime, hell, Trump is right sometimes.

We should debate issues instead of name calling.

......and I would add that it was placed in the clean debate forum while indulging in the worst sorts of polemics.

It strikes me as wanting to get in the first sucker punch but be protected from the inevitable counterpunch.

It would seem fair that in a clean debate forum where a historically accepted quote and term is being changed from the original to a new creation one would at the very least mention the original usage.
Franklyn D. Roosevelt listed the four freedoms that America would be fighting for and dedicated to less than a month after World War ll began, on Jan. 6, 1941.
Freedom of speech
Freedom of worship
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear

These were freedoms and goals the American people were told they would be sacrificing for.

The OP talks about emotion vs reason but it is not emotion but faith vs reason. We accept way too much on faith, and I'm not talking just about religious faith. I think Trump was right, he could kill someone and his faithful supporters would still follow him.

The OP is just unsupported opinion, taking every perceived flaw in our society and, without any evidence, blaming the left. Obviously that is an article of faith and needs no proof.

Liberals started this nation during a period in history called the Age of Reason or the Age of Enlightenment. It was a most interesting period and reeks of liberalism. A few of the ideas of this age can be found in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

I had thought a lot about the Age of Enlightenment, in the sense that we are living in an age that is the exact opposite. While there is amazing scientific progress, there is no enlightenment. From literature to political, discourse our conversations are stunted. There is no scientific method and no, absolutely no straight line thinking. Math has turned into English sentences. Testing is so oblique it fails to test anything but confusion. A poem is to poetry as love is to ______. There is no right answer to that kind of poppycock. I was trying to help my grandchildren do their homework and all I could tell is the assignments were meant to confuse not to simplify, and they are eight year olds. What would Hobbs, Kant, Locke, Rousseau, and Voltaire think of, we have to pass the bill to find out what is in it. Sounds like something from the divine comedy.

And so it is with most replies to my article. Now the point about regressivism versus liberalism is well taken, but " you have grouped a bunch of people together and created an evil them" lacks any substance or examples. I am still waiting for ONE person to address even ONE of my points instead of dashing off a generalization that is usually politically manufactured and very superficial. Anyone with a passing knowledge of history would know about Roosevelts four freedoms and would hopefully give the author some points for creativity and connecting to history. While there may be some who would give trump a pass if he shot someone in New York City, I am not one of them, but the idea of a thinking, reasoned person supporting mr. Trump seems to be an oxymoron that the leftists cannot contemplate, hence an article of faith. Only a person well versed in character assassination and personal insults would complain about not being able to respond to an article in the clean debate zone.

As these forums show, straight line reasoning is certainly out of fashion and may even be becoming a lost art form along with simplicity. Stay tuned for the next article about democratic tactics, it should kindle even more exasperation.

What you don't understand that there is no army of liberals plotting an attack on America. When you frame the discussion as a war you polarize the electorate and can then ignore the values that liberals hold. To make this country work you need to address the concerns of liberals and find common ground (liberals must do the same of course, there is plenty of guilt to go around). The alternative is gridlock. If you want a country run by a minority of Americans, that is a recipe for disaster and doom.
