The US needs to stay ahead of the curve on projects like this. Other nations, such as China have far fewer scruples when it comes to human guinea pigs. And they are actively researching ways to use genetics for Eugenic purposes. If someone else starts pumping out super humans before we do... Game over.

only an insane conspiracy loon would think being able to cure horrible diseases via genetic therapies is a bad thing.
