Everyone, even those who are less than middle class thinks they are middle class.
And let's not forget that article you posted was written about NYC and not the average place to live
And in your article it also said that 52% of households live in the middle class
So you ignore the fact that married people have 2 incomes
Married people have two incomes
A generation ago, a married couple could survive on one income
They should have twice the income and double the standard of living....yet they struggle to maintain the same standards as their parents
Many still can depending on where they live and many still do.
Like I said people just don't want to make the sacrifices necessary to do it.
