Explain in DETAIL: how religion hurts you or someone believing in religion hurts you?And what is the difference between being afraid of black cats and afraid of Satan? Some actually believe black cats are Satan in disguise.Religion is a group faith in a chosen god or gods.
Superstition is being afraid of black cats.
Can we return to the meaning of āfaithā then and examine why thereās any difference between believing Christ rose on the third day and walking under a ladder is bad luck. The number of believers who accept ladder theology could be described as a āgroup faithā. However, some who use the term āgroup faithā simply mean a written formalised set of beliefs, that is, a theology. How though is that different from superstition?
āNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seenā Hebrews Ch:11.V 1.
I am personally harmed by religion but my head isnāt squished in a vice or anything. Iām just in a subculture that makes me feel trapped from pursuing my ambitions. My parents, kids, wife, siblings, cousins, friends and other family members are devoutly superstition or pretend to be at all cost. Leaving the religion would be an emotional nuclear bomb. Iād lose everything. The harm is mostly psychological. The sociological forces weave a brilliant trap that is impossible to leave. Once God has you in His hands there is no way out, not even death. For the most part religion is harmless but it isnāt victimless as you imply.
