Here in Pennsylvania's 18th Congressional District (which may not exist for much longer), the Democrats are running a nice looking young attorney who is a military combat veteran and former prosecutor.

Think about that: A Democrat who is a military veteran and a former prosecutor. You might say, this is a "Republican Resume." Democrats abhor the military. They love criminals. One would almost say, THERE ARE NO DEMOCRATS who are veterans and prosecutors.

But they have come up with this guy (he is from a political family, which is probably why he is a Democrat), and are running a campaign that's basic message is, "He's not your Grandfather's Democrat!"

Immigration is not mentioned. Abortion is not mentioned. Tax reform is not mentioned. Obamacare is not mentioned. Pelosi is mentioned with scorn; the candidate SWEARS that he will not vote in lock-step with Pelosi and Schumer when he is in the HR. He doesn't even LIKE Pelosi!

What kind of bullshit is this? They are running a candidate - and supporting him LAVISHLY from afar - who is running as a closet Republican!

If Democrats were capable of shame they would be ashamed of this tactic and this candidate. He shies away from every issue that the Democrats claim as their own - because they know that if they field a real Democrat he will get trounced. So the field someone who WILL SURELY ACT like a Democrat once elected, but pretends to be a Right-leaning moderate in his campaign.

And what does this mean? The fact that Democrats, at least locally, know that if they run authentically on the issues that they find most important, THEY WILL LOSE.

By the way, I'm a retired Navy veteran who is registered independent, but currently I agree with most Democrats and disagree with most Republicans.
