Conservatives are well known for their alternative reality. One part of this make-believe world where their simple minds dwell is their fantasy of the “good-guy-with-a-gun”, jumping into action and saving the day.

Of course, as people of reason understand, the “good-guy-with-a-gun” immediately makes himself (or herself) the target of police or other good guys with guns when his (or her) weapon is drawn. The foolish conservatives believe the "bad guys" running around with guns have a big sign that says "Shoot Me" pinned on their back.

It is not uncommon for a citizen with a concealed carry permit to be present AND armed when a crime occurs, they normally do NOT get involved because they know the danger doing so poses to themselves and other innocent bystanders.

There were armed civilians present when the sniper opened fire on the crowd attending the country music concert in Las Vegas. They were unsure of the source of the gunfire, and, knew police would target them if they were seen with their guns drawn. This was in their witness statements as reported by the press. This is not a unique incident, as it as happened before in other crimes committed by armed criminals, Sadly, there is no making conservatives let go of their favorite myths, and the “good-guy-with-a-gun” is one of their most cherished.

The video at the link below portrays the fantasy in the minds of the conservatives, and shows what they see when they dream of being that “good-guy-with-a-gun”, getting the chance to prove his (or her) courage and fortitude. (The scenario can only happen in TV and movies, and of course, the wild imaginations of conservatives.)

As always, thoughtful comments are welcome. Unfortunately, in the conservatives' responses to this thread we can expect only their typical nonsense, denial, alternate facts, and off-topic silliness. (e.g. non-sequiturs, ratings, transference, memes, etc.), to which any reply is a waste of time.

How about a good GIRL with a gun. Like this one who shot an armed man trying to rob her liquor store.

I bet you don't have the balls to watch the video. Happened just the other day.

You're looking pretty stupid right about now.

Yeah, a sniper from a concealed position is a hard one for a civilian with a handgun.

That one type of attack is difficult for an armed civilian to defend against of course is not a reason to dismiss all the other types of attacks that an armed civilian would be very able to defend themselves and/or others.

You can bet in many of their minds they're thinking 'yeah, so what's the big deal, that's how I'd do it'. And they believe it. These people own guns because it makes them feel powerful in a world they are terrified of.

Yes, they envision themselves quickly taking charge of the situation, and have either killed the shooter, or have him apprehended and ready for his "perp walk".

Then, when the news cameras arrive, they picture themselves digging the toe of their shoe into the ground and telling reporters, "Aw shucks, it weren't nothin' any red-blooded American hero wouldn't do."

Their fantasy continues as their invitation to the White House is hand delivered by the idiot Trump's lackey, Mike Pence. And the requests for them to speak at NRA and other gun-nut events start rolling in soon after.

For most of the conservatives so confident of the hero potential, they would have pi$$ed their panties, then, run and hid behind the children. Reality is a b!tch. (The four deputies who remained outside, safely hiding behind their patrol cars reacted more bravely than the untrained conservative "good-guys-with-guns" could ever hope of themselves.)
