July 15, 1999 -- Bush decides to forgo campaign finance limits and matching funds: Bush became the first front-runner of either party ever to decline matching funds. This allowed Bush unlimited campaign spending nationally and within each primary state. His ability to outspend his rivals, especially McCain, played a huge role in his primary victories. Bush already has raised and spent more money than any presidential candidate in history. (In comparison, Bill Clinton spent about $38.1 million in 1996 and $33.2 million in 1992, and President Bush spent about $33 million in 1988.)
Did bush buy the elections in 2000 and 2004 when the GOP outspent the DNC by a wide margin?
"Bush's Secret Stash" by Nicholas Confessore
are people also aware that Bush did this during the 2000 election?

stop whining and just admit this time you got beat by the superior campaign and candidate
Soros has teams of people giving cash away in exchange for these $200 checks. We are witnessing the largest theft in US history and the Dem's are actively participating in it.
The definition of evil in American politics is .. only if the other side is doing it.
Democrats, specifically Obama, has figured out how to beat republicans at their own game by appealing to the very same big daddy republicans did .. specifically Wall Street .. all of which was previously considered evil by the democrats ..and previously considered "freedom" by the republicans
Now republicans are whining because democrats are sucking off big daddy and democrats are singing "freedom"
... and big daddy has figured out how to control both of them.
amazing
As manifested by the "bail out". Have you ever seen anyone get the two parties together so quickly to spend 700 billion ? America took that one right up the ass.
Kudos to Soros.Yes his campaign has raised money and a lot of it. How? By running a well organized campaign. After all, Hillary started out with better funding and was the frontrunner until Obama's campaign rolled on through. Instead of depending on the support of Big Money, his campaign built on grassroot support and that is the way it should be. To be elected by the people and not to be beholding to big money interests that will have their hands out as we have seen over the last 8 years...kudos to the Obama campaign.
All that money, possibly 1/2 of it from unknown sources, and he didn't get the number of votes that Bush got in 04 (when population growth is figured in).Like I said...
