The 800 MILLION pound Gorilla in the Letita James debacle

This little lady wasn't thinking straight when she decided to attack Trump in the one area where he can simply fade back into the ambient underbrush allowing the ensuing thickets and thorns to eliminate his pursuit. Real estate valuation is the cornerstone money driver for multi holding enterprises like large Hospital systems for instance. There is no such thing as OVERVALUATION and in reality if it was strictly enforced it would immediately stiffle up to 20 percent of the economy almost immediately.

Trump's methodology is the popular route used by the majority of the high end real estate holdings companies and has been used, will be used and is even now being used to grease the wheels of investment capital.

Not only will this case fail. It will be quietly buried. Far too many dark Giants lurk in the shadows of this money forest. They will make themselves known quietly but forcefully and irresistibly. There isn't anyone in any branch that has the ability to actually pursue this.
Fat shaming and racism in a single post. Impressive. Not impressive.

Crepitus i'd love to see her hand trump his ass but can they fit that yuuuuuuge fork lift in the courtroom. it might need an escort truck and "wide load" signage.

no. but we are making a case that perhaps a little regulation might be in order.
The people who would be responsible for the regulation are deeply involved in the the activity; And if they're not directly involved they benefit financially from it. I suppose we could see a David and Goliath legal battle here but it's much more likely that it will be quietly suffocated.

I think you've underestimated how prepared she is. She's gonna hand tRump his ass and then use this prosecution to launch an investigation into real estate valuation nation wide and start a huge RICO case that will upend the whole industry.

You’re silly!

"Everybody does it" is not a legal defense.

Trump committed fraud when he lied about the value of his properties to secure loans.

And maybe there is. But you cant prosecute people for what the rules should be.
you got it backwards, cp , these forms are signed "true to the best of my knowlege under penalty of perjury." or something like that.

the rules on "perjury" are pretty clear

So now you are justifying Trump's prosecution as a basis for upending the whole real estate industry? Thank you, Antifus.

The funny part about this case is as Trump claims he is worth a lot of money then that figure can be used in other cases he lost where he owes money.
So the "funny" part about this case is that it can be used as a pretext for other cases against Trump? How noble of you.

if the situation is as the op described (and that appriximates my experience) this trial is necessary, with a yuuuuuge sentence reqired, in order to encourage these honest businessmen to remain honest.
So this trial against Trump is necessary, in order to encourage OTHER businessmen to remain honest?

You people are duplicitous slimeballs.

we are watching david and goliath. poor little letitia is fighting against a diant dream team of highly paid and amoral defenders.

Well he hired somebody, because the stock market is getting better, unemployment is dropping, inflation is dropping. You tell me.

And when Trump isn't found guilty on most of these charges if not all of them? The only one that has any real legal chance of holding up is the classified documents case.

Where did I try to justify it? Like so many other macro facts of Life right and wrong are basically irrelevant on this scale. Doesn't mean it should be. I am merely pointing out that I seriously doubt whether or not they understood the scope of what they were undertaking. In that backdrop Trump is just a pimple.

Um, no, Trump's behavior is a lot more egregious than the other investment firms, who double check every document ten times to make sure they are in compliance with the letter of the law if not the spirit.

People around him told him what he was doing might get him into trouble, he went ahead and did it anyway.
