Tampons Confiscated, Guns Still Allowed At Texas Capitol Ahead Of Abortion Vote [UPDATE]

State troopers are confiscating tampons, maxi pads and other potential projectiles from those who are entering the Texas capitol to watch the debate and vote on a controversial anti-abortion bill. Guns, however, which are typically permitted in the state capitol, are still being allowed.

So, uh, someone could throw an unloaded gun ...

Thing is, women don't really need tampons and maxi pads. Just as a Republican and he'll tell you that if women wanted to, they could just shut that whole thing down.

Apparently the brainless men finally listened to an intelligent woman because this is the update since I first read this yesterday:

UPDATE -- 4:43 p.m.: According to a tweet from Stand With Texas Women, the Department of Public Safety has stopped confiscating tampons and maxi pads. According to Burnt Orange Report, state Sen. Kirk Watson convinced the DPS to stop confiscating the items.

The Republican Race To The 17th Century continues.

Get government control out of our private lives once.

Maybe if the protesters hadn't thrown things all over the place the day before we wouldn't have this problem. The cops also confiscated jars of piss and shit that the protestors were planning to throw. Real classy bunch.

Yup, these pro-abortion activists are deep down a group of fine upstanding citizens, not like those Tea Party terrorists.

However, Texas Department of Public Safety officers were reported to have found one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected of holding feces and three jars suspected to contain paint.

It's hard to understand why there are protests AGAINST adequate medical care.

creating signs that say " jesus is not a Dick. Keep him out of my vagina" and giving them to young girls to carry shows some real class too.

"the Texas Legislature is AGAIN the laughing stock of America"

Jul 12, 2013.

State troopers providing security at the Texas Senate earlier were confiscating tampons from spectators entering the gallery to watch debate on a controversial abortion measure. Apparently, there was concern the items could be thrown in protest of the bill.

As news of the security measures spread — with the stories pointing out women's sanitary products were being banned even as guns were still allowed for those with concealed carry licenses — the confiscation was ended, according to Burnt Orange Report's liveblog of the proceedings.

Opined Burnt Orange: "Meanwhile, the Texas Legislature is AGAIN the laughing stock of America, as #tampongate trended worldwide on Twitter."

Actually it's the protesters who are the laughing stock. They are like all the stupid twits who think hanging their tits out is a 'protest'.

I don't dispute their use for comic relief, but when it's time to do the people's work, the children should be neither seen nor heard. Send them back to the bathroom to check their pregnancy tests.

Leave it to liberal women to even think about throwing tampons at people. Classy.

Protesters throwing feminine hygene products

vs.

Elected State House Representatives.

:eusa_hand:

I call it a "Tie" in the stupidity category.
