It's not banning a book, it's removing it from access at a school library since it is age inappropriate. And since parents have no control over what their child reads while at the school library, the library has a responsibility to restrict or remove inappropriate material. If other parents feel differently, then they can run out and purchase that book for their child to read at home if they so wish. Maybe only books directly related to what the school should be teaching should be allowed since they don't seem to have the ability to determine what is appropriate and what is not.

We can play semantics all day but it is banning it from that library. As I said at 13 -14 years old in middle school I was reading about spys and assassins and murder and sex, my comic books had female characters drawn in revealing clothing. My parents didnt find it inappropriate.

But they're not your children, so if the parents want the book removed from a SCHOOL LIBRARY, that is their right, especially as it has nothing to do with the education of said children.
