Tell us again that these books are not kiddie porn and grooming....in our public schools.....

I simply disagree with banning books. If what that kid read in the video was the worst in that book, and I suspect it was, it is not the pornographic filth some are claiming.

I fought against banning Of Mice & Men when I was 20 or so. A group wanted it banned because the word "goddamn" was in it 56 times. I fought against banning Slaughterhouse Five. I fought against banning Huck Finn.

Never have the people banning books been in the right. Not now and not when they wanted to ban comic books when I was a kid.
There is a difference between banning books and restricting access to them.

Children are not allowed in porn shops, are they? The material certainly has not been banned, only some sensible restrictions have been placed on who is allowed to view.

The books aren't banned. They just aren't allowed where juveniles can get them.

You apparently thought the words were just fine for the age of the child in the article, now you qualify it to say 13+, after the words were clearly pointed out to you. Because you couldn't make the effort to actually go listen to the video before you accused the op of lying.

It's not appropriate for a 13 year old either. My guess is that you're not even a parent, at least I hope you're not.
I was 10 when I entered middle school, which was sixth grade in California back then.

If this sort of material was in libraries of Middle schools back then ( we called them Junior highs) those responsible would have been pilloried.

This serves absolutely NO educational purpose.

They aren't banning the book.....they are limiting access to children....big difference.

Any parent who has given their children access to a cell phone or computer and the internet has given their children more access to pornography than this little library. Kids are getting their porn from the internet these days not books.

It really does sound like porn is being taught to children in America's schools.

The evidence presented should be subject to close scrutiny, as is the evidence on too many guns also being scrutinized as to it's influence on children.

Pornography also fitting as a description of American children being convinced to be supportive of war!

The books obviously being the least of the evils in my opinion.
Another leftist supporting sexualizing American adolescents

Keeping an inappropriate book from children in a school library is not 'banning' the book from society, it is removing inappropriate material from a school library. Are you going to take up arms against them because they won't allow Playboy to be available as well?

It may not be pornographic to an adult male, but to an 11 year old, it most certainly is.

Not if their phones are locked down. And of course you can say that now since your side won the 'culture war' to allow filth to be spewed everywhere all the time, congrats!

Then he doesn't need to read it.

No, thank you for admitting it, now the next step is to expose children to all of it, right? That's why you're in here to defend it in whatever way you can.
Middle school goes up to 13 - 14 year olds. When I was that age I was reading my grandfather's David Morrell, Tom Clancy and Eric Van Lustbader books. Making information available to kids isn't grooming, there's absolutely no evidence or even suggestion that the librarian was talking to this 11 year old sexually or trying to molest him. No, all they did was allow them to check out a book. That's it. It's your job as a parent to talk about and regulate the things your children consume.

So you agree with the op?

The dad also mentioned the book gender queer.

We have GOT to stop pretending this shit is OK!!!!

Does it seem like I agree with the OP to you? Which parts? 😄

Your comment: It's your job as a parent to talk about and regulate the things your children consume.

That's what the op is about, the parents are having the book removed, so apparently you agree with what they are doing?

Gotta teach little boys to give blow jobs, dontcha know! Leftists line up to support this crap, too.

None of them have the wherewith all to ask what possible educational purpose this serves.
