Teatards in office 5 minutes and...

giving that the fiscal year is already half over, if they cut the current year by half it would be a good start then cut the next year by the full amount

If they didn't know how the fiscal year budgets worked when they were campaigning, they don't belong in their seats.
you mean like how the dems claimed they would do all this and that before they got in office and after backtracked on nearly ALL of it?
and their excuse was" it was worse than we thought it was" but thats ok, right?

Nope, it's not ok.

They have to face reality.. Oabama is 16 blocks away sharpening up his veto pen, and the Senate only moves quicky when it comes time to adjurnment.

Both sides need to grow up a bunch. From the WAPO article, emphisis mine.
"This is a two-way street going on here, and results are going to be judged through the prism of whether jobs are created and whether spending is cut and the deficit is brought back under control," Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the incoming House majority leader, told reporters Tuesday. "And it is as much the responsibility of this administration as well as the Senate to join with us in echoing what we heard in the last couple months."

I still love the "most transparent congress in history" promise.

And I love how "hope and change" produced 17% unemployment and massive entitlement spending LBJ style.

Oh the irony.

"I hope I can find a job, I'm down to the change in my pocket."

btw, how many MORE threads do we need on this NON-story

Be fair though, it is a story. They trumpeted deep cuts and now they're talking scaling them back. That in and of itself, is a story.

Look, the GOP set some softball goal of eliminating a mere $100 billion within the first year while the deficit is a whopping $1300 billion.

And within minutes of being sworn in they have caved and cut that piddly goal in half.

Talk about the "soft bigotry of low expectations".

He finished High School? I find that even more amazing.

You're a real one trick pony, soggy. Really.

If I may, how old are you?

After reading through your gleefully boasting, childish assed posts, I'd ask you the same. Really. Just search your name on here, pretend you're not you, and look at your last 20 or so posts, and tell me being objective that you don't come off like a douchebag in her sophomore year of high school. Just do it.

I tailor my responses to fit the post to which I am responding.

Suck on that... there's some sophomoric for ya.

Seriously.. you come here for intellectual debate? There's a handful here who are capable of pulling together a cogent argument.

the midterm election historically sees a power shift away from the party in power. this is nothing new. but if the democrats were really just a crappy party then why did they retain control of the senate? and why werent all the democrats up for election voted out? there may have been a power shift, but its still false to believe that "the american people" have spoken. (in reference to the midterm elections) a group of americans have spoken about their disdain for how the government works. just like what happened in 2006 to the republicans.

just look at the history. the problems is that republicans currently only place blame on the current problems if the debt, deficit and economy. they do not take any responsibility for causing any of the problems that led to disaster. things like the deregulation of wall street and the banking system. they like to walk around like their shit dont stink and its all bullshit. the repulicans made campaign promises but rarely do they follow through. they want to cut spending, but wont touch SS, Medicare, Medicaid or defense. they make symbolic gestures like "banning" ear marks, that makes for good sound bites, but doesnt really do anything to tackle the real problems.

we have already seen that democrats are willing to compromise (i.e. the tax cuts). boehner wont even use the word compromise, he simply says we will find "common ground." this sounds like a small child who when he/she doesnt get their way they simply stand there and throw a temper tantrum until its so annoying that they get what they want.

until the republicans realize and show that they know how to govern, they have no standing.

Is anyone really suprised? Since the Tea People movement started, it has been a rhetorical vehicle for the Republicans to try and regain the power they've lost during President Bush's 2 terms.

Whoa, some politicians lied. Knock me over with a feather!!!!!

already caving in, breaking their word, backpeddling...

Republicans take over House, dilute cuts | Reuters

(Reuters) - Republicans scaled back plans for deep cuts in government spending as they took power in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, diluting a key promise that helped them to victory in November's election.

This was sooooo predictable. You been chumped!

From your your article:
The incoming House budget chief, Republican Paul Ryan, told NBC's "Today" program a Republican campaign promise to cut $100 billion in spending this year had been "compromised" by the momentum of spending already under way.

The actual cuts put forward could be "substantially less" than $50 billion, a House Republican aide said, because the fiscal year will be halfway through by the time Republicans get a chance to affect spending

You're pwned, moron sheep.

The TeaPards knew this going into the session, and now the argue why the can't.

They p'wnd themselves, and they will not squeal their way out of it.

And this is news to the GOP, why? Did they NOT know when they would be taking office as they were running for office? Or is it just YOU who is this stupid to believe their lies?

Next time, tin foil hat nut, try posting a link that doesn't pwn yall sad excuse for an argument a couple paragraphs in

This thread just CAN'T go on much longer without interjecting the ever so popular phrase coined by the left... "WE WON, YOU LOST, GET OVER IT."

I'm sure the left will get over it, because they repeated that so many times to the right when they had their unholy majority, and I'm sure they were sincere... pfft...

Fuckin' sore losers... the left is the worst bunch of whiners, cry babies and sniveling idiots this country has ever had the misfortune to have to listen to.

There are plenty on this board who get a more thoughtful response; you will too when your posts merit such.

Till then, I will treat you with all the seriousness of a cartoon. Really, go back and read the posts, any of them.. it's people having fun. Get over yourself.

From 2008 on we all had to listen to the hard right scream and yell and refuse to have their diapers changed. Now you condemn the left for the same thing?

We need mature, grown up politicians right across the spectrum to work together, not act like a bunch of spoiled snotty children on the playground.

Didn't Teatards realize the fiscal year ran from Oct-Sept before they promised $100 billion in cuts?

Bull shit... there's not a bigger bunch of ultra partisan hacks than the radical liberals that have been in control for the last two years. They have rammed their radical socialist agenda down the throats of Americans without so much as giving a flying fuck what anyone else wanted or had to say, so don't give me this "we need to work together now" bull shit. You sound like a goddamn idiot.
