Modernism has brought with it a species-wide respect for convenience consumerism and its facilitative toys/gadgets (e.g., eBay, Wikipedia, Xbox, etc.). It's no surprise that the software engineer (e.g., Bill Gates) is considered a 'neo-intelligence diplomat,' even though all he's doing is creating 'exchange efficiency engines.'

Maybe the Internet hacker is the new terrorist, which is why Hollywood (USA) is making so many darn comic book adapted films such as The Dark Knight and The Justice League. People are ultra-concerned about the 'quality' of pedestrian vulnerabilities. Sometimes it seems that Internet unreliability is more 'scary' than ghosts in the modern age...

So with all this metaphysical 'weight' placed merely on *synthetics* (i.e., Silicon) that make life 'easier,' we have to ask, "Has intellectualism been replaced by commerce?"

BATMAN: Why are you cynical about Amazon.com?
SCARECROW: I loathe vehicles that cater to laziness.
BATMAN: That's what they said about telephones...
SCARECROW: Yeah, and look at things today --- millions of people carry mobile phones.
BATMAN: Do you think consumerism is breeding a form of socialism?
SCARECROW: I think if everyone is a consumer, than no one cares about creativity...
BATMAN: Even artists may yearn to sell their work for profit...
SCARECROW: Do you believe I have no empathy for humanity?
BATMAN: I think capitalism has jaded your sensibilities about industry.
SCARECROW: I simply don't trust a civilization obsessed with A.I. (Artificial Intelligence).
BATMAN: Be careful not to confuse replication with waste.
SCARECROW: Don't you think a 'disposable-goods culture' (e.g., bottled-water) reveals carelessness?
BATMAN: I think chemists who study the manufacturing of synthetics sincerely care about their 'craft.'
SCARECROW: You're an optimist regarding the existence of post-Industrialization synthetics (i.e., Silicon).
BATMAN: Synthetics are simply the new 'pirate treasures.'
SCARECROW: Maybe the capitalism-subjective U.S. President (Donald Trump) will praise synthetics.
BATMAN: Well, they did have paper-cups at the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
SCARECROW: Thanks for the exchange. I believe I learned something about neo-ambition.
