"Terrorism" is nothing new.
The nature of such attacks, however, seems to have evolved in recent times. Over the last couple of decades, perpetrators have more and more selected a method almost certain to end with their own death. This is aside from 'political' or 'religious' motivation. Across the board, there appears to be ever greater acceptance of this tactic.
If it is merely a trend, it will decline with time. Is there something else to it?

It is cultural. It happens that the best thing that can
happen to a muslim is DEATH in martyrdom to the
advancement of islam----it is accepted by muslims----
the Japanese are not using it anymore -----it did not work
all that well for them-----but islam was BUILT upon it

Suicide by cop isn't that new.

What would be the point in breathing after killing people? There really are no options afterwards. In some way they may feel like they controlled their ending.
