Now I know Pres. Bush is getting bad intel from the idiots at the CIA. The hundred foot elephant in the room of Sudan-US relations is the fact that the same Sudanese Islamists heading to Iraq (and getting there too) are cutting their teeth waging jihad in the ranks of the janjaweed militias, who rape, torture and slaughter tens of thousands in Darfur.

But since the US government is trying to "Clintonize" (downplay casualties, halt gov't official use of the word "genocide" to describe what's happening, apply zero pressure to other nations to get involved, etc etc) Darfur, I'm not surprised. Why not a formal announcement of abandonment of the Darfur people to be truthful about the shift in US policy towards it and Sudan?
