There are elements of truth in what he is saying. Did so called Christians in the past target Jews for persecution? Yes. However, the typical Leftists, despite knowing a certain history, is unable to learn from the lessons of such a history. That is why these Marxists are Marxists despite the horrific history of Marxism last century, murdering hundreds of millions more people than any other ideology. This bit of information fat boy is unable to come to terms with.

First, we must put the persecution into context. Why did so called Christians persecute Jews? I say so called Christians because Christ never advocated such persecution. Christ never advocated conversion with the sword, for example, that Mohammad practiced. The simple fact of the matter is, Jews were persecuted by the state that claimed they spoke for God. Combining the politics of men, which is simply men vying for political power, and assuming God's power can work in that mess, is a terrible miscalculation. As we see in 1 Samuel 8, God never wanted a sinful human king to reign over other men due to the inevitable abuses that would follow. That is why when Jesus came and fed the multitude with fish and bread and later tried to make him an earthly king over them, he evaded their advances and left them. This is why when he was face to face with Pilot he said he was a king, but not a king of this earthly realm. The Bible further indicates that the god of this political world system, is really satan.

In short, all of the abuses that Jews encountered over the centuries in Europe arose from the state that claimed they spoke for God. This is where the Inquisitions came from, the Crusades, the Jewish Ghettos, all of which that were antithetical to the teachings of Christ who never would have gone along with it.

But this theocracy is gone. No longer does the Pope control nations and kings politically. As a result, there are no more Inquisitions and Crusades. However, statism does what it does best, and that is to continue to target people based upon the identity politics of man. But instead of a Christian theocracy to oppress them, which has been gone for centuries, we now have Islamic theocracies leading the charge. Unlike Christianity, Islam demands some level of theocracy as Sharia law is mandated for Muslims. As a result, you can never be Islamic and divorce the state from religion. Now these theocratic powers seek to destroy Zionism, that is, the 7 million or so Jews who reside in Israel.

But dolts like Michael Moore are too obtuse to see this fact, at least, hopefully this is the case. I would hate to think that he secretly advocates the destruction of the Jewish nation on the same premise Hillter had, and that is, the world would be better off without them.

He probably doesn't realize that the most brutal Inquisitors were converted Jews. In any case, the much sniveled about Spanish Inquisition wasn't nearly the horror show old Protestant and Jewish propaganda made it out it be, and certainly compared to the slaughters Jews inflicted on others when they had the upper hand. Considering Jews were Muslim allies and ruthlessly ruled the cities and looting the peasants there for hundreds of years, it was actually pretty tame stuff. Jews and Muslims would have slaughtered them to the last man, woman, and child if the situation was reversed. No option to leave.

The speakers in both recorded conversations sound exhilarated, joyous, proud of their actions.

It was only aimed at those Muslims and Jews who claimed to have converted, true. Those that didn't were allowed to leave. You are correct, it was only directed against those that lied about their conversions. Jews weren't even the majority; Protestants outnumbered both Muslims and Jews in the court cases, of which there were only about 10,000, with some 1,000 convictions.Most of the alleged 'death sentences' were never carried out except in effigy, the convicted allowed to flee to other countries. Given the role local Jews had played in aiding the Muslim conquests, it was the safest thing to do, since they could not be trusted to not do the same thing again. As usual, most of the 'persecution' was self-inflicted.

So what? They were a national security threat to the Crown. Allowing them to leave was a generous thing to do. They didn't have to convert, they had a choice. Many of them did convert, and became Inquisitors themselves.

The hate had nothing to do with envy, it had to do with the tax farming and extortion of peasants and monopolies on imports. They were happy plunderers of the lower classes, hiding behind Royal armies and courts. No pity party needed for them. They were hated for good reason.
