...of Officer Ella French released on minimal bond...

Straw purchasers IMO should be charged as accomplices.

JAMEL DANZY purchased the firearm at a federal firearms dealer in Hammond, Ind., on March 18, 2021, and falsely certified on the required forms that he was the actual buyer, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago.

In reality, Danzy was a straw purchaser who bought the gun at the request of someone whom Danzy knew resided in Chicago, Ill., and was not lawfully allowed to purchase a firearm due to a felony criminal conviction, the complaint states. Danzy gave the firearm to the Illinois resident shortly after the purchase, the complaint states.

Federal prosecutors accuse 29-year-old Danzy, of Indiana, of being the alleged "straw purchaser" of the semiautomatic handgun used to fatally shoot 29-year-old French once in the head and critically wound her partner, a 39-year-old male officer, during an Aug. 7 traffic stop at 63rd Street and Bell Avenue...

...During a federal detention hearing Wednesday, Gilbert set Danzy’s bond at $4,500. He was released under court supervision and warned to have no contact with Eric Morgan, who along with his brother, Monty Morgan, is facing charges in state court in connection to French’s death.

He was the actual buyer. He had to be a resident of the state and have no criminal record. The Cops seemed to have latched on to him pretty quick. Was he a federal informant or a known known weapons currier that they allowed to work in exchange for information? Sumthin ain't right. Whatever it is it sure ain't a 2nd Amendment issue.
