The power of patronage...
I wonder if he would have been a different person had his wife not died.
He's not my hero.
You seem to like to talk about him an awful lot, though. Man crush?
His first wife that is.
As brutal as Stalin was, the video states that the people heaped praise and thanks upon him for the "gifts" he'd given them - specifically social services.
Shouldn't this be in the brainless taunting area?

They have a forum for a Democrat taunting area?
There was a strange relationship between FDR and Stalin. The US Military made special concessions to Stalin when it made no sense from a military standpoint. Ike was forced to wait for the Russian hoard before entering Berlin and the dying FDR agreed that the Russians would control part of Berlin when he didn't have to make that concession. FDR used to call Stalin "uncle joe" and often made jokes with Stalin about England in Churchill's presence. Communists had completely infiltrated the FDR administration and ran rings around what was left of the OSS. HUAC was organized by democrats during the Truman administration and when Hollywood started complaining they blamed the whole Communist scare on a single republican senator.
Oh no - full blown man crush. You have it. Stalin is really your hero.
He's not my hero.

Well, the guy was more honest than your standard libtard these days, so not a man crush but some respect for having the balls to say what he really thought unlike his minions around today and in the WH.
Come on, admit it; you wear a Stalin mustache, don't you?

For a real understand you need a time line not hindsight.
Dec 1941 - we get bombed at Pearl Harbor, Russia throws Germany back 100 miles from the gates of Moscow.
Summer 1942 - Stalingrad, Germany can not launch a front wide offensive so they try here.
November 1942 - Us and the Brits land in FRENCH Moracco.
July 1943 the battle of Kursk, we land in Sicily then Italy.
Tehran Confrence
1944 January - Anzio.

We were doing great fighting a two front war and building dozens of Essex class carriers. Just so was the Red Army doing well in its own right.
