Most freaking over -blown POS in the history of music . Didnt like it when it came out. Yet it has acheieved a "cult status" POS
Dolly Parton did it better than Zeppelin. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJHjQ81JtY0]YouTube - ‪Stairway To Heaven‬‏[/ame]

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, nor would I label it an over-blown POS. It was, and is, what it is. And that's the beauty about that era- the 70's. We took music at face (ear?) value. No pre-conceived notions or expectations. It was a spontaneous experience. Stairway to Heaven has a beginning, middle, and ending. It's coherent, it tells a story, and is in itself a very well written and performed work. I still like it although I rarely give it a listen. It brings back great memories and makes me long for something other than the trashy over-produced bullshit of this particular decade. Imagery, curiosity, fascination - that was Stairway. That was the music world 40 years ago.
That whole album was good. A bit of a depareture from their first and second albums but a lot of good music.
