The President of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, said on Friday that xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals was rising just as the mechanic workshop of a Nigerian was completely destroyed early on Friday in Johannesburg.
Anyene said Nigerians living in South Africa could not sleep and much has been lost in business during the attack. He urged the Nigeria government to open dialogue with South Africa government with a view to putting an end to the attack immediately. Anyene further addede that although no Nigerian has been killed, the time has come for the Nigerian government to make a categorical statement on those attacks.
